  1. with a white roof!!!
  2. Some shots of Rapido F40's on Killagan Valley. https://www.flickr.com/photos/nirailfan/ The sound units have HEP option. Sounds great sitting screaming their heads off at station stops.
  3. Found this on flickr. If you take a look some of the albums are Irish based with NCC,NIR,CIE,IR and IE stuff. Some great shots. https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/sets/
  4. I glued a small piece of plastic in between the 2 frame sides and tapped a hole M2 then fitted a Kadee 141 coupling in a Kadee coupling box. It sounds worse than it was to do. The difficult part was making sure that the coupling height worked out ok. The photos at the link attached helps to see the set up and the result on the track. It does run well with this set up for me with large curves.
  5. Well after test running one empty flat with a heavy rake of mixed stock behind I modified the flat to run better by the following; 1.Removed the brass flat washer between the bogies and body and inserted M3 steel washers. 2.Removed the couplings from the bogies and fitted kadees to the actual body. I have been tested this arrangement for over 1 hour running forwards at a scale speed of 60MPH and backwards at 15MPH over various points and track configurations and so far no derailments. Please note my sharpest curve is 22"
  6. Just after posting some pictures on Flickr of the 42'flats numbered and weathered. https://www.flickr.com/photos/nirailfan/
  7. I just super glued mine together.
  8. Well first 42' flat built and sprayed. Needs transfers added and a good bit of weathering. https://www.flickr.com/photos/nirailfan/ Some photos on flickr
  9. Thanks to everyone for this guide and help, much appreciated. Here is my attempt on flickr.
  10. Thanks for all the help in this thread. I have 1 completed tonight apart from couplers as I am going to try kadees and then it is off to the paint shop.
  11. Not only painted in correct colours but they also intend to include a few flashing lights on the data recording panel!!!
  12. Here is a link to a photo of the first mold shots that were displayed at Warley. https://www.flickr.com/photos/nirailfan/15247016394/
  13. Just to let everyone know that after a brief discussion with "legomanbiffo" at Warley he intends to do new Irish recordings and sounds during 2015 for ESU Loksound. He was running some BR diesels at the show and I have got to say the Class 37 was brilliant. Here is a link to his Youtube channel to have a look. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfRnBPFj6tZV_XCRMJTq4BQ
  14. Looks great, love the light in the cabin.
  15. I think it would be great for Paddy Murphy to continue making and developing the Locomotive market for Ireland with modellers of the irish scene giving him full support with their wallet. Crowd funding is all about producing an item with no middle man and making exactly the amount purchased by people in advance. Therefore I would say the first such venture needs to be a high quality wagon to support Murphy Models high quality locos.
  16. A Class
  17. I visited the shop out at Boucher Retail Park about two weeks ago and the shutters were down and a notice said that the shop unit was now closed and that they would be operating online only.
  18. Some great layouts but the lighting spoils a good day.
  19. Where are these sound decoders available? Is that 071 in the video fitted with the original speaker? Sound great!!
  20. Kadees with the NEM fitting is the best option.
  21. Uploaded a couple of videos of the layout. See at the links below. https://www.flickr.com/photos/nirailfan/
  22. Some recently delivered Intermountain SD40-2's https://www.flickr.com/photos/nirailfan/
  23. Some pictures of the recently acquired Tangent Hoppers. These cars are excellent, no parts falling off and printing is excellent. https://www.flickr.com/photos/nirailfan/
  24. How did you stick the brass onto the plastic sides??
