Galteemore Posted Thursday at 12:33 Posted Thursday at 12:33 Thanks Darius. I had half wondered if it was something like that. Really looks good and will be interesting to see in situ on the layout…. 1
Darius43 Posted yesterday at 03:29 Author Posted yesterday at 03:29 (edited) Quick question: according to Wikipedia, seven of the 18 WT locomotives had their coal bunkers extended. Does anyone know which locomotives these were? Cheers Darius PS. Found the answer in Joe Cassell’s excellent book: Steam’s Last Challenge. The locomotives in question were numbers:- 4, 50, 51, 53, 54, 55 and 56 So modified as they were considered to be the best engines. Edited yesterday at 04:06 by Darius43
Darius43 Posted yesterday at 08:42 Author Posted yesterday at 08:42 Rear pony truck fitted. Cheers Darius 8
Galteemore Posted yesterday at 09:39 Posted yesterday at 09:39 Excellent. Just the thing for the NCC’s secondary lines had they endured. Are you going to file off the smokebox numberplate and add a door wheel? 2
Darius43 Posted yesterday at 09:57 Author Posted yesterday at 09:57 (edited) Need to get some smoke box wheel castings first. Trial run on the layout - all fine. Cheers Darius Edited yesterday at 09:59 by Darius43 4

The boiler diameter is too small as are the main drivers but the body is very similar and so it should have the “look” of a WT once finished. Cheers Darius WT "Wee Tank"! 1
Mol_PMB Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Very nice work and at your remarkable speed of construction too. Sorry I can’t help with the numbers of those with large bunkers - I’m away from my library. 1

Mol_PMB Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago That lining is very neatly done and certainly ties together the old tanks and the new bunker. 1
Darius43 Posted 23 hours ago Author Posted 23 hours ago Also added some rivet decals to the cab and bunker sides. Cheers Darius 1
Darius43 Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago Weathering applied. Will let the paint cure overnight and refit the cab glazing tomorrow. Cheers Darius 9
Darius43 Posted 17 hours ago Author Posted 17 hours ago Got another 2MT on the way to convert into No.6. That and the forthcoming Spoil Wagon kits from Leslie mean I will be able to run a top and tailed spoil train from Magheramorne. Cheers Darius 6
Mol_PMB Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago This looks great! That spoil train will be something impressive. I can’t help feeling that Leslie’s spoil wagons will sell out quickly. 2 1

Flying Snail Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Nice job on the lining ... is that by hand with a bow-pen? 1
