Wexford70 Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 (edited) Heard today at Connolly that the new ICR carriages were loaded in South Korea this morning. Edited June 28, 2022 by Wexford70 2 Quote
spudfan Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 There is a photo of one in it's cellophane wrapping in the "Interesting Photo" section. You can see it being manouvered prior to being encased in its foam, and then its plastic sleeve and then placed in its card board box. 3 2 Quote
jhb171achill Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 How many are they getting? And what for? (Will the jax, as a revolutionary alteration to the design, have air (ideally fresh), ventilation, dry floors and toilet paper?) 2 Quote

New Trains - Rail Users Ireland Forum Plan, I was told, is to increase the number of coaches per train and allow some sets to be released onto other routes. skinner75 Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 Test run it on a bit of carpet, down the back of Inchicore Works 1 1 Quote
DJ Dangerous Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 What size will the 22000 formations be after these arrive? They currently exist only in three and five car formations? Obviously they can be coupled into sixes, eights and tens, I know. Quote
connollystn Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 (edited) @DJ Dangerous - I've a feeling that they'll be up to six cars in formation. The first sets on the Dublin-Sligo line operated 3,4, 3+3, 4+3 and now, 4+4. There might be a limitation to the maximum number of cars which can operate in a set. DoctorPan Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 Limited to 7 pieces due to the size of lifting jacks in Laois Train Care. 3 2 Quote

Any shots of what's in the accessory pack? Will IRM have the special 'blue cross' wrapper, when they finally announce them? 1 2 Quote

Sean Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 There's a magnetically fitted panel somewhere in the jacks that you have to pry off to reveal a 21 pin socket. 1 4 Quote

hurricanemk1c Posted July 8, 2022 Posted July 8, 2022 New B cars will have 68 fixed, 6 tip up seats and no toilets. After that the same general layout ("high capacity" always meant standard class 6 car units) 2 2 Quote
