Patrick Davey Posted December 19, 2023 Author Posted December 19, 2023 The second wall has now been decorated, and the building has to stand on its 'face' until the scatter sets. Seeing two walls together gives a better idea of how the finished building will look. 9 2
jhb171achill Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 That pebble-dashing looks amazing! Whatever the denomination involved, I am impressed that someone is devout enough to ballast vertical surfaces. I wonder if that is the result of a penance from a particularly interesting confession or an attempt at getting a very worthwhile indulgence? Edited December 19, 2023 by Broithe 1 6

Patrick Davey Posted December 20, 2023 Author Posted December 20, 2023 I am afraid the interior won’t be quite as ornate….. 4
Broithe Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 It looks like there may be a damp/mould issue there. Often the case with these old buildings. 1 2

leslie10646 Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Hmm, that interior doesn't look Presbyterian, although it could be one of Charles W's places? 1

Don’t worry Leslie, once the interior is complete, there will be no confusion as to where headquarters lies! In fact, the coastal location of this church is very appropriate, when one thinks of ‘The Holy Sea…..’ 2 3

When Father John Brennan gave the Eulogy at memorial service for the famous photographer, Ivo Peters, he thanked the local C of E vicar for the use of his pulpit and explained that he (John) worked for a Large Multionational Company based in the South of Italy ....... 1 4

Talking of what denomination it is, I wonder is it five pound, ten pound or twenty pound denominations; and whether they have silent collections on the "Sobboth"..... Galteemore Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 Looks terrific Patrick. And more of the backstory emerges. At least one former PP was a Leitrim man. Why else is the church interior painted in SLNC railcar livery? 1
Kevin Sweeney Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 It's looking good. I love the fine detail that is possible in OO, that cannot be got in N. 1

Patrick Davey Posted December 23, 2023 Author Posted December 23, 2023 The parishioners now have somewhere to sit and kneel, and the priest has a roof and window on his sacristy. Just the altar to go and the interior will be complete. 6 2

jhb171achill Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 All churches have a church mouse. I wonder what an 00 scale one would look like….. Plus, Fr. Hedclogher of the parish might need a cat to catch it with….. 1
David Holman Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 (edited) Plain, simple, but VERY good. Creates a real atmosphere. A mouse is less less than 3 inches long, with same again for the tail, so in 4mm scale that will be a one millimetre body. No doubt somebody will have done it... The lady who arranges the flowers in the church is called Lily Rose Tansey, and she has a cat called Peregrine (just to compound things, her husband is a top link GNR driver) and with a name like that there are definitely no mice to be found. She chose that name because it was always going to be a church cat, hence named after a bird of pray. 3 4
