An impressively precise approach to the glazing, how do you place the masking tape pieces with such precision Darius?

This is a cracking build!

Hi Patrick,

I stick a large piece of tape on the clear sheet and cut the glazing bars out with a sharp knife, leaving the tape masks over each pane behind.

Cheers

Hi @Darius43. I use the same method for glazing, but use perspex with "tape" already covering the surface. Cut and paint then. Have to hand it to you though, I am nowhere as precise as you. Need a sharper knife methinks (and a lot more patience). 🙄 Yours look great.

Superb work! The open window is a nice touch.

Thanks.  It was actually masked/painted a bit too wide so I “opened it”.

Cheers

Baseboards arrived from Model Railway Solutions yesterday.  Assembly commenced.

This is the first and largest of the six modules that will make up the layout.

That's looking great. It's a tight fit in the room - but good use of space as long as you can still get to those shelves somehow!

I look forward to seeing this develop.

Alas baseboards construction has stopped as the framing parts for two of the modules were not supplied.  I have asked for them to be shipped ASAP.  The shop (Model Railway Solutions) is closed today but I will call them tomorrow.

Very frustrating.

Frustrating indeed.
I normally build my own boards but to give me a running start for my mini Irish layout I have ordered some laser-cut baseboard kits. Hopefully they will arrive complete, but there’s still the lead time of 6+ weeks to deal with.
I hope your missing parts arrive soon as I’m looking forward to seeing this develop.
