ttc0169 Posted October 23, 2018 Author Posted October 23, 2018 Recently transferred from the Scottish region to Ashburton grove for services in West Yorkshire is a three car class 101 DMU ,it is seen here arriving at the MPD for refuelling-and later doing some driver training runs...... 2 Quote
ttc0169 Posted November 27, 2018 Author Posted November 27, 2018 I was delighted finally to get my hands on a Dapol HST Intercity 125 book set in its iconic blue and grey livery, It is a fantastic model and is certainly no comparison to the Graham farish version which I also have, The power cars have directional lighting and a smooth running motor, I also purchased three weathered TTA tanker wagons which are seen here delivering fuel to the MPD behind 47 635. 3 Quote
ttc0169 Posted January 2, 2019 Author Posted January 2, 2019 It was back to business at Ashburton grove after the rush over the Christmas/New year break, With the construction of an oil storage tank facility at the factory sidings , the freight business has increased , there is now a daily oil train to and from the depot which is keeping the 08 shunter busy, The passenger side is busy with an increase in size for the two car DMU to five with the addition of the three piece class 101, Here are a few photos from todays operations. 3 Quote
ttc0169 Posted February 5, 2019 Author Posted February 5, 2019 With the two class 20 locomotives having gone to the MPD for servicing, it was the turn of the class 37-(37 261) to be allocated to freight duties, Here we see the locomotive coupled to a tanker train in the loop-awaiting line clearance and the passage of several HSTs - it will follow the class 56 hauled freight which in turn later will arrive on the loop and its wagons be shunted to the factory sidings by the class 08 shunter. 3 Quote
ttc0169 Posted April 25, 2019 Author Posted April 25, 2019 It was a busy evening at the factory sidings for the driver of the Class 08 shunter, a late departure of the class 56 hauled freight seen the class 37 hauled tanker train unusually held on the down mainline for the freight to clear, once out of the section, the 08 came out of the sidings to shunt the train back into the yard and release the class 37, Meanwhile passenger traffic continues on the up mainline with the procession of DMUs and HSTs pass..... 1 Quote
ttc0169 Posted April 27, 2019 Author Posted April 27, 2019 As the factory security guard keeps an eye on proceedings at the gate, the driver of the Class 08 prepares to shunt the tanker wagons around so the unloading can be completed, 37 251 rests on the head shunt and will be fired into life later on to return the tanker train for reloading. 2 Quote
ttc0169 Posted October 25, 2019 Author Posted October 25, 2019 A new arrival on Ashburton grove is the impressive Class 50-(50 043),a welcome addition to the locomotive fleet. Quote
ttc0169 Posted December 6, 2019 Author Posted December 6, 2019 Back to business at Ashburton grove....the class 50 has settled in and can be seen working a MK1 set while the freight depot is busy on a daily basis....a few photos of recent operations.... 2 1 Quote
Warbonnet Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Very nice Noel, must give you a look at the PCA wagons we did for Realtrack Models in N, they turned out lovely and the STS Grey and Rugby Cement would be perfect for your era... https://realtrackmodels.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=73_89 1 Quote

ttc0169 Posted December 18, 2019 Author Posted December 18, 2019 A natural sunlit early morning scene at Ashburton grove.... 1 1 Quote
ttc0169 Posted February 1, 2020 Author Posted February 1, 2020 The inspection saloon gets a run behind 20 063...and visits the factory sidings for the first time while the 08 shunter moves some wagons around. 1 Quote
jhb171achill Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Absolutely superb! So much going on in this layout....... 1 Quote
ttc0169 Posted February 28, 2020 Author Posted February 28, 2020 The factory siding Class 08 shunter developed a fault earlier and was driven to the up siding to await fitters attention, Meanwhile super shunter in the form of the class 20 has temporarily replaced the 08 at the factory sidings. 4 Quote
RedRich Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 When n gauge is done right it looks great and this layout is right. The scale of it looks impressive and it looks like a railway built for its environment as opposed to an environment built around the railway. Rich, 1 Quote
ttc0169 Posted March 21, 2020 Author Posted March 21, 2020 One of the longest passenger trains to operate on Ashburton grove was hauled with ease by 50 043,it was made up of a variety of coaches including two TPOs tagged on the back. 3 Quote
jhb171achill Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 And that is.......N GAUGE!!!??? WOW! Impressive if it was 00, but even more as N. The class 50 is the bee's knees. I love the BR blue era. 1 Quote
ttc0169 Posted April 1, 2020 Author Posted April 1, 2020 Super shunter 20 063 shunts some tank wagons at the factory sidings as a procession of trains pass on the main line-and later it retrieve's the failed 08 from the up siding, it is then coupled the tanker train for attention at the MPD. 3 Quote

ttc0169 Posted May 11, 2020 Author Posted May 11, 2020 Monday evening on Ashburton grove sees the 08 shunt wagons from the loop to the factory sidings having arrived behind the 37 earlier, A southbound HST passes at speed the local DMU as it forms a Leeds - Doncaster service, A 47 hauled express passes the shunting as it heads north to Inverness from Kings Cross. 2 1 Quote

ttc0169 Posted May 22, 2020 Author Posted May 22, 2020 When both power cars of the Highland Chieftain HST got into difficulty near Ashburton grove, the crew were fortunate as class 50 -50 043 was on the loop beside the factory sidings so disruption was kept to a minimum, Here we see the 50 come to the rescue of the HST..... 2 1 Quote
JasonB Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 I wouldn't have much of an interest in British Outline. But I have to admit, there's something about this layout that I really like. I definitely have a soft spot for that Class 20. 1 Quote

ttc0169 Posted June 4, 2020 Author Posted June 4, 2020 I know...I know....its nearly the middle of June but a recent arrival at Ashburton grove is the ''Snow Queen'' snow plough, it is seen here in the loop while being propelled by 37 251, It was being transferred from Doncaster for storage at the MPD. 3 Quote
