The first of the annual Christmas shopper special trains operated to and through Tara Junction today when ,

Control car 6102+4 Mk3 push pull+130 operating the Ballina-Dublin Pearse service 

075 working a Dublin Heuston-Galway MK3 intercity Supertrain livery. 

017 works the Sligo-Dublin Connolly Mk2D set

171 works the Athlone-Dublin Heuston Mk2a/b set,

080 works the other Mk2 a/b set forming the Tralee-Dublin Heuston service. 

NIR 450 class railcar 452 works a Dublin Connolly-Belfast relief service. — at Tara Junction Station.

Operations returned to Tara junction today when 075 worked the 07:30 Heuston-Cork and 086 worked the 06:00 Heuston-Cork passenger/mail which was looped at the station to allow 075 overtake.

124+134 work the 12:00 Sligo-Waterford BELL liner.

174+128 work the empty Sligo-Northwall oil train,

160+192 work the Platin-Cork laden bogie bulk cement train followed closely by 220 working a Platin-Tullamore two axle laden cement liner. 
 

130 propels a Mk3 push pull set into the tunnel -control car 6102 leads.

An IR themed evening as 048 working the Northwall-Sligo BELL liner uses the bidirectional loop at Tara junction in order to overtake 080 which has gotten into trouble at the platform with the Dublin Heuston-Galway service,

The driver is currently going through his fault finding process in the cab of 080.

127+130 pass in the other direction with the Sligo-Northwall BELL liner.

A quiet bank holiday Sunday at the Lakeview freight yard see locomotives 124,134 and 185 stabled on the sidings awaiting their next turn of duty.

Four hours of an enjoyable and Intense operation condensed into a fifteen minute video,

048 working the Northwall-Limerick BELL liner is routed around 080 and it’s Mk2a/b set,

127+128 working the late running Waterford-Sligo BELL liner is held on the up main line to allow some passenger services overtake,we see;

017 work the Waterford-Dublin Heuston Mk2 set followed by 054 working a Tralee-Heuston Cravens set,lastly 175+129 arrive with the Galway-Heuston Mk2 a/b set,

018 works the Northwall - Claremorris laden oil train as 174+130 work the empty Sligo oil back to Northwall.

Fantastic Noel, as usual. A very entertaining 14.35  mins. I see  the Aer Lingus 747 has finally gotten off , freeing up  the airspace for BA? 😃
