Noel
Well done Team Aer Lingus who've committed their entire fleet of 5 heavy Airbus A330s to fly to Beijing to collect emergency medical supplies, equipment and PPE for healthealthcare professionals. Thank you to the 100 volunteer air crews, loading crews, and aircraft maintenance engineers who are travelling out with the 5 birds to bring back emergency supplies. None will leave the aircraft while on the ground in Beijing so they can return home without being quarantined out there. Way to go Aer Lingus. Two more in the air now with all 5 operating from tomorrow after todays first proving flight landed back in Dublin. 60 flights scheduled for the health service air lift. Cargo hold full of pallet loads of medical equipment and supplies, the cabin filled with more medical supplies and boxes of PPE Two more A330 in the air right now . 4

NIR
Let's not cringe and forget the 'gift' they've already given us. 1
minister_for_hardship
Let's hope they're better than the faulty batch the Netherlands got from China. Meanwhile the wet markets are back in full swing. Great bunch of lads.

burnthebox
As it says in the papers, ?The Irish Times: “Huawei will donate personal protective equipment to help those working on the frontline, and ICT solutions which could help with video conferencing, or any other useful applications for those who need it,” he said. Huawei was encouraged to send the equipment by Web Summit chief executive Paddy Cosgrave, it is understood, who tweeted on Thursday that an unnamed Chinese company was seeking an address and a “point person to ship medical aid from China to Ireland as a gift”. Georgeconna
Yeah we should send them the bill as as well for the flights out and back, not to mind paying them for the stuff. The amount of quotes I ama getting in looking to bring PPE in from china is unreal. <4000 deaths they had and now they are coining it again. Unreal. BTB And as it says on RTE, "It is the first of 10 flights to Beijing to deliver PPE to Ireland as part of a €208m deal." Possibly one or more donations and everything else we have to stump up for? Noel
All FIVE A330 green Thunderbirds airborne on Beijing medical supplies airlift. I understand there will be between 50 and 60 flights.
DiveController
I cannot believe how narrow minded some of the comments on this thread are. You don't have to wear anything from China and just take your chances if you prefer. Just please stay away from us until reason returns. There are plenty of front line personnel worldwide who are very short of PPE and feel obliged to treat the sick risking their own health and even self isolating from their own families while doing so . The whiners on the soapbox still EXPECT to be treated so please be grateful for what you have, be respectful and grateful to those helping you and those you love, give it a rest and let us get on with it please! Thanks in advance Edited April 5, 2020 by DiveController
