DJ Dangerous Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 A few pictures of some of the road vehicles in my collection. The City Imp is probably one of my favourites, with the DAF not far behind. 7
DJ Dangerous Posted October 8, 2020 Author Posted October 8, 2020 A few photos taken today... The Correos (postal service) trucks are 1:87 and not as highly detailed as the Oxfords, but they remind me of the pain that Correos put me through waiting on my orders almost every single time. 6

DJ Dangerous Posted February 13, 2021 Author Posted February 13, 2021 A few of the lads got together for a car meet down in the container yard on a Saturday morning. All went well until two bucko's showed up in their Skylines and started ragging them to bits. The Gardai were called, and they found that neither GTR was taxed nor insured, so they loaded them onto a truck to haul them away. 7
Shinkansen Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Nice collection of Japanese classics there lad Love the twin cam There’s always one hooligan doing doughnuts 3
DJ Dangerous Posted November 4, 2021 Author Posted November 4, 2021 Received these two little stunners in the post today; EP71 Turbos! Got them from eBay. My real life one is off the road the last few years, and will continue to be so for another few years. These are supposed to be 1/64 but I'd say that they're closer to 1/70. Too big for other 1/76 cars, but grand with 1/76 trucks and buses. 6

DJ Dangerous Posted March 13, 2022 Author Posted March 13, 2022 Haven't had time to run the trains in ages, but at least got out a few vehicles today to admire them... 7
DJ Dangerous Posted May 29, 2022 Author Posted May 29, 2022 Received this in the post a few weeks ago. Only getting around to admiring it today. 6
DJ Dangerous Posted September 11, 2022 Author Posted September 11, 2022 Waiting for 47' Flats for these! 9
DJ Dangerous Posted January 4, 2023 Author Posted January 4, 2023 Definitely no such thing as enough Toyotas... 3
Billycan Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 Black Toyotas are popular as taxis in Dublin. Are there any 1:76 scale black models of Toyotas since c2010? 1

The rest are 1:72. The Evo at the end is 1:80 or something, so is too far off. 4

MOGUL Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Anyone do a Corolla hatch Dave? Wouldn’t mind doing a cameo of my Dad 2

DJ Dangerous Posted February 25, 2023 Author Posted February 25, 2023 Slightly smaller road vehicles this time: N-Gauge seems to be an eclectic mix of 1:144, 1:148, 1:50 and 1:160. 3
DJ Dangerous Posted April 8, 2023 Author Posted April 8, 2023 With thanks to @Moxy for highlighting here that Morris LD's ARE actually available in 1:76, and with thanks to @murphaph for telling me about @Flying Scotsman 4472 posting a video on Facebook, I went down to Mercadona (local supermarket chain) tonight and grabbed a 200ml bottle of pure acetone... This stuff is magic!!! Just tried it on a few vehicles earlier and it is wicked stuff. Obviously I lack the finesse of a true modeller, but just testing it out and I'm well pleased with the results. 4
Ironroad Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 (edited) Oh Dear, there's no hope for you, following up glue with acetone. Edited April 9, 2023 by Ironroad 2

Lucky I'm teetotal or things could get really hectic! Between IRM draining my bank account and forum members pushing me onto harder and harder stimulants, this could all end in tears. 3
DJ Dangerous Posted April 9, 2023 Author Posted April 9, 2023 Can't decide which Network Rail Transit I like better; plain orange or orange with a white stripe. 3
DJ Dangerous Posted April 9, 2023 Author Posted April 9, 2023 And that is enough substance abuse for today. Trio of orange Transits, trio of Morris LDs and a few de-Stobart-ized truck cabs. 3
DJ Dangerous Posted April 9, 2023 Author Posted April 9, 2023 I forgot to mention acetone on plastics. Both @murphaph and @Ironroad warned me not to let the acetone near any plastics. So, in the name of science, I decided to dab loads of it onto some plastic to see what would happen. I have a few of these trailers that I'll eventually stick labels onto, so was happy to take the risk in the name of science. Basically, the acetone melts / burns the plastic. I reckon that you'd totally destroy fine parts like wipers, mirrors etc if you weren't careful, and the surface of tougher plastic ends up scarred. Whatever you do, don't let this stuff near your locos or coaching stock! 1 1 1
DJ Dangerous Posted April 17, 2023 Author Posted April 17, 2023 Fun de-branding yesterday, some Mk1 Transits first. The little blue roof lights were well glued on, so I drilled them out from the inside, then stuck a rail fixing pin down throgh the top to lever them off. Will deal with the mark left behind another day. 2
