DJ Dangerous
A few pictures of some of the road vehicles in my collection. The City Imp is probably one of my favourites, with the DAF not far behind.
DJ Dangerous
A few photos taken today... The Correos (postal service) trucks are 1:87 and not as highly detailed as the Oxfords, but they remind me of the pain that Correos put me through waiting on my orders almost every single time.

DJ Dangerous
A few of the lads got together for a car meet down in the container yard on a Saturday morning. All went well until two bucko's showed up in their Skylines and started ragging them to bits. The Gardai were called, and they found that neither GTR was taxed nor insured, so they loaded them onto a truck to haul them away.

DJ Dangerous
Received these two little stunners in the post today; EP71 Turbos! Got them from eBay. My real life one is off the road the last few years, and will continue to be so for another few years. These are supposed to be 1/64 but I'd say that they're closer to 1/70. Too big for other 1/76 cars, but grand with 1/76 trucks and buses.

Billycan
Black Toyotas are popular as taxis in Dublin. Are there any 1:76 scale black models of Toyotas since c2010?

The rest are 1:72. The Evo at the end is 1:80 or something, so is too far off.

DJ Dangerous
Slightly smaller road vehicles this time: N-Gauge seems to be an eclectic mix of 1:144, 1:148, 1:50 and 1:160.
DJ Dangerous
With thanks to @Moxy for highlighting here that Morris LD's ARE actually available in 1:76, and with thanks to @murphaph for telling me about @Flying Scotsman 4472 posting a video on Facebook, I went down to Mercadona (local supermarket chain) tonight and grabbed a 200ml bottle of pure acetone... This stuff is magic!!! Just tried it on a few vehicles earlier and it is wicked stuff. Obviously I lack the finesse of a true modeller, but just testing it out and I'm well pleased with the results.

Lucky I'm teetotal or things could get really hectic! Between IRM draining my bank account and forum members pushing me onto harder and harder stimulants, this could all end in tears.
DJ Dangerous
Can't decide which Network Rail Transit I like better; plain orange or orange with a white stripe.
DJ Dangerous
And that is enough substance abuse for today. Trio of orange Transits, trio of Morris LDs and a few de-Stobart-ized truck cabs.

DJ Dangerous
I forgot to mention acetone on plastics. Both @murphaph and @Ironroad warned me not to let the acetone near any plastics. So, in the name of science, I decided to dab loads of it onto some plastic to see what would happen. I have a few of these trailers that I'll eventually stick labels onto, so was happy to take the risk in the name of science. Basically, the acetone melts / burns the plastic. I reckon that you'd totally destroy fine parts like wipers, mirrors etc if you weren't careful, and the surface of tougher plastic ends up scarred. Whatever you do, don't let this stuff near your locos or coaching stock! 1 1
DJ Dangerous
Fun de-branding yesterday, some Mk1 Transits first. The little blue roof lights were well glued on, so I drilled them out from the inside, then stuck a rail fixing pin down throgh the top to lever them off. Will deal with the mark left behind another day.
