  1. Ahoy there Maties. Well I did not get it finished for me Dads 75th but Father Day turned out to be reasonably nice so a meet up was arranged at Knockananig Reservoir near Fermoy, The reservoir used to supply the water for the town. Its a lovely wooded location but frighteningly deep water, Possibly 150ft deep. If we lost a boat it was gone for good. Anyhow the Puffer was ballasted out and good god she was heavy but ready for her maiden voyage. Snag though two wires pulled out of the converter which meant the smoke unit was not operational and I had no screw driver to fix and could not remember anyhow which wire as Live as they were brown and green. I got my Talacre ready too and she had her 2nd proper voyage this time in heavy seas due to the wind whipping up the water from time to time. Passers by were pretty amazed at the the 2 boats doing there thing especially the kids as some got to have a go at the controls. Anyhow the boat and a book of Parahandys Full stories and a packet of peppermints was handed over for fathers day and I got to spend a lovely hour with me Dad. Turned out it was a dicky switch that caused the lack of power to the lights too which is a pity , next time, maybe dusk sail. Heres some pics.
  2. Maybe a Silly question but why lay all the NG Track only to take it up again and relay the larger Track at a later stage, Seems like a lot of extra work?
  3. I feel your pain main, I find that it is 2 steps forward one step back, Paint these days is a disaster for me!
  4. There has to be something fishy about this, There really is. Some Jumps in bid Prices and not even near the End date with 6 days left.
  5. I soldered the DCC droppers to the fishplates and used some very thin brass wire to bridge the 2 rails. Looks a tad heavy there Noel but will Stand up well I'd say.
  6. That Came out very well noel, With all that Grey you expect a few 16 inch guns to be poking out too!
  7. That poor ol bus used to be in great nick, Amazing how these are left to go to pot.
  8. Good Job so , Sweating in the storage stash looking at the bits n bobs and Missing 3 of those babies 5202 5152 5214
  9. Cool couple of these not on my stock list so hot dog! I might visit the loft to make sure...
  10. You see plenty of Polls surveys for model of the year and Wish list etc but looking at the volume of people actually voting it seem to only capture a small section of People. TBH I did not even see a Survey on this but you could add me to the list for the Red ones if it ever happens! Would of been nice for the B&T stuff too. Maybe later as you say but I would imagine these would move along quite nicely TBH, all the Dapol grey 4W Stuff went and they were on UK products so if you have a good outlet to move em on surely these would sell away. (Easy to say when its not my money though) Now a nice Bandon Tank Train pack with suitable stock would be very nice
  11. Certainly good prices when compared to the original asking prices when they came out. Coaches 10 notes less when they came out. Are these coaches the ones with the fuzzy Black- Orange Demarcation as I did not buy some of these when they first came out for that particular reason? Cheers George

  15. Managed to catch it this am heading out, Couple of ol shots this am. Hopefully nothing else caught on the trip out
  16. No customs Duty mate on Models, Just VAT upon importation to Europe so post Brexit if you buy in the UK there will be no UK Vat Applied so that will be applied upon importation here and maybe a Processing fee so if our friends in Revenue let one or two slip through then quids in. In relation to the Irish RRP, The reason the price is lower in the UK is mostly due to wealth of competition, There is mostly none here so of course no discounting for the Punters, So Full Price please Sir for the time being until maybe year or so of them sitting on the shelves when they drop 30 notes or such. Irish people are used to paying over the odds at this stage, From Panadol Tablets to Cars but perhaps that.s for another forum altogether.
  17. Nice one! The Vid looked Fab, At the 06 end you can get lovely shots. The Fence used to be about 3ft high in the 90's.
  18. Grahams did a good deal on the 141's a few years back if you bought a few together. If the local retailers did a deal on a 'Bundle' then I am sure it would pay off and custom would stay at home, Say 5-10% of the first 3 if you buy together, custom will come back then. €65 notes is quite an amount to save on the first 3 locos if you shopped around. Don't think anyone is boasting, Noel is just putting the info out there. As for Sea Freight, Month and a bit depending on Rotterdam Transfer. We are not seeing any delays but Cost hikes, the urgent containers are coming by Rail.

  20. On the Rumor mill for the past couple of days, No A Classes on Board or 121's either before you ask. I am off for the week, Sweet says I, except the Car does not agree with the idea and wants a visit to the flipping Garage.. https://flyinginireland.com/2020/06/worlds-largest-aircraft-to-visit-shannon/ The world’s largest aircraft and only six engined transport plane is due to pay an overnight visit to Shannon on Tuesday 9th June and depart the following day. The Antonov An-225 Mriya will be bringing in cargo to be off loaded at Shannon. The crew will stay overnight for a rest period and depart empty to its home base of Gostomel Airport, Kiev in Ukraine. The aircraft has been operating extensively in recent weeks carrying PPE (Personnel Protective Equipment) from China and Japan to Canada via Anchorage. The aircraft will have a very busy day on the 9th June, it is due to leave Almaty International Airport in Kazakstan at 01.00 (GMT times) and fly to Baku with an arrival time of 04.30. It will then continue on to Leipzig in Germany at 06.30 with an expected arrival time of 11.30. Currently, the aircraft is scheduled to depart Shannon at 14.30 on Wednesday afternoo
  21. God knows what the price of these would be on a re run with the Baccy Price hike.
  22. Dats the Job, Bit of Luke Kelly or such fine but the music you had did not justify your hard work and Fab Layout! You should lay over some city sounds at some stage.
  23. Nice Vid, Shame bout the Music!
