  3. It's been said before, and I can say that I wholeheartedly agree, the silver and the green don't show up too well in photos but they are just stunning to the eye. The green is gorgeous, and the detail on the silver really pops. Plus, the sold-out models already change hands for over €250 on eBay, so you'll definitely be paying a premium if you want them further down the line.

  5. Almost sure that I read somewhere here on the forum that the Irish variant had the same chassis but a different body. Not 100% sure on that.
  6. How are the sales figures looking now? My budget has been thrown askew due to some unexpected spending on RPSI coach packs and IRM buses!
  7. When I was younger, maybe early teens, maybe earlier, I sent a letter to IR / IE, with some drawings that I had done, suggesting new liveries, and suggesting that they start naming the locos. The livery that the 201's arrived in is not a million miles off the drawings that I had sent, and all these years on, I still think that it's a lovely livery. For its day, it was a modern take on the classic ST / IR / IE colours, and it looked great no matter what it was hauling / pushing.
  8. Not sure about the three-car 29000's, but the four-car sets are around €725, I think. Chris told me that somebody else here on the forum has recently ordered a four-car set, so maybe whoever that was can advise.
  9. That's an awesome photo. I don't use a real camera, just a 'phone, but flipping it upside-down does give some nice low perspective shots.

  12. You mean on your must-be-soon-to-be-announced Mk4 DVT's? For an idiot, "sound-fitted" means loco and decoder sold as a bundle? Or a hard-wired decoder? And non-sound can or can't be upgraded with a sound decoder?

  15. They pop up on eBay every few weeks for under the £20 GBP mark. There are a constant stream of them for way over that amount, obviously.
  16. This. Exactly this. IRM 141's / 181's would definitely sell out at this point in time, but IRM probably have their rollouts planned 24 months ahead. Using the A to test the water for price / quality / quantity, it would still mean finding time to do the research and development. Not so sure about the C Class for three reasons. Firstly, it's too similar an era to the A Class. With so much to cover both before and after the A, launching a loco from the same period may not make sense. It would be like doing a second run of A's. Secondly, saying that the C would be easier because it's similar to the A etc doesn't sound like IRM's modeus operandi. They've shown that it's about quality, attention to detail, innovation value for money. A C Class would probably be built from the ground up, not using much, if anything, from the A Class. And, third, an 071 or a Hunslett would go far better with the upcoming NIR coach packs. A steamer seems likely at some stage, but with literally nothing RTR to go with it, I'd expect to see an older coach model before a steamer, something that overlaps steam and diesel.

  20. I'd suggest grabbing an A Class and a 121 now. IRM have limited stocks of three variants of the A left, and the sold-out A's are already changing hands for over €250. Likewise with the 121's, grab one now and sell it in six months if you change your mind. You certainly won't lose money on it.
  21. Thanks, TTC! I can't really see the difference in your photo, the scales look incredibly close, but when I look at my own models, the scales look way off!
  22. Will IRM's P47 Flats come with Unit 45's, BLS's, Samskip's and Dana's?
  23. Is that timber truck a 1:87 Herpa model? The white Scania behind doesn't look much bigger. I find the difference between 1:87 and 1:76 very noticeable in the trucks.
  24. Congratulations! IRM going from strength to strength. The Mk4 sets or P47's will surely win next year.
  25. I had a feeling they were more suited to the sewenties alright, but the "post-1963" description of the logo had me curious. Both green A42 and black A55 would have hauled Cement Bubbles? With JMD's grey post-1963 brakevan?
