Your post was clearly iCR-bashing. I'm not super familiar with AI, but I'm sure you could train a freely available AI program like ChatGTP to analyse this thread for the data, asking it to calculate the probabilities, which would save you a fair bit of time. @Sean is mad for AI, he gets moist just thinking about the rise of the machines, maybe drop him a message for some pointers. -
New Murphy Models 071 Class Locos Likely in 2024
DJ Dangerous replied to DJ Dangerous's topic in News
I'm still struggling to get my head around your two posts, here, but I THINK that you're trying to say: "Whenever Paddy Murphy himself announces an estimated arrival for the new 071's, he will still be subject to external factors that may affect delivery." But, Paddy hasn't even announced them, yet, never mind given a lead time. We have livery information from two members who received it from Paddy Murphy and from Murphy Models. We have an estimated delivery of late 2024 / early 2025 from two members, again who received the info from Murphy Models and from Paddy Murphy. If Paddy is telling people that, it is fair to assume that he's likely to be more or less on the mark, so why say / imply that he's not? -

Easy there, Ned Ludd, there's no need to turn into another Noel, bashing progress every chance you get. Next, you'll be saying that you won't board unless the loco's painted black with orange and white bands... I imagine that if you read back over this thread, and analyse the info posted, you will be able to paint a picture of the days and times where a loco-hauled Enterprise is more probable than ICR's. -

Maaaaaybe re-read the thread again. Both @Noel and @MOGUL confirm that they have spoken with Murphy Models and Paddy Murphy, respectively. Don't be lying to the youngsters, @Georgeconna. It stands for "Crikey, Not Yet"... -
UK HST (Intercity 125) in Mexico
DJ Dangerous replied to DJ Dangerous's topic in Photos & Videos of the Prototype
Searchability on Facebook, and social media in general, tends to be quite poor, and many posts lack sources / references. Often best to bookmark the url to the post, take a screenshot, and email both to yourself with a subject that you're likely to remember. Translation was pretty accurate at least. -
New Murphy Models 071 Class Locos Likely in 2024
DJ Dangerous replied to DJ Dangerous's topic in News
Going back to the new run of 071's, does anybody know which NIR liveries will be reproduced? There were quite a variety, and it would be nice to see a 1990's livery, which was missing from the original run, a deep blue with red / faded red warning panel, and a version as they run today. I'm assuming that the livery application is not yet finalised but the tooling, ie marker lights, probably would be? -
Following on from the posts in this thread, here's a video of a UK HST (Intercity 125) on trial in Mexico in October 2023. I quite like the livery! These two posts:

Were the "diamond frame" bogies all replaced with "Gloucester GPS" bogies in the seventies? If so, are the only variants still available pre-1970's? What does "More On The Way" mean? -
Well, I know of somebody who has some of MY coaches to play around with, so maybe we'll find out how interchangeable the bogies really are in time...

073 repainted into IR white stripe livery

So, @228RiverOwenboy, any further comments from that Tik Tok guy? -
So, following on from these posts over the past few months, scattered throughout the forum, it's time to start a thread on the new 071's. According to @DonderBlitzen, they are definitely due in freight grey, and according to @Noel, as well as IR, both NIR blue AND freight grey are definites. Definitely in stock with IRM and Mark's Models by the end of 2024 according to @Noel, who got the info direct from Murphy Models. IRM opened pre-orders for the 141's / 181's on August 15th, and they're due pretty soon, so it's probably fair to say six or seven months from Expression Of Interest pre-orders to delivery. I know that the immediate reaction was that there's no need for 071's, but I feel that they will sell well. Links to the various posts, hopefully in chronological order - maybe @BosKonay could copy the relative posts into this thread, also leaving them in their original threads? https://irishrailwaymodeller.com/topic/12383-new-murphy-models-141s/page/5/#comment-213276 https://irishrailwaymodeller.com/topic/12383-new-murphy-models-141s/page/5/#comment-213287 https://irishrailwaymodeller.com/topic/14875-south-dublin-model-railway-exhibition-2023-list-of-exhibitors-and-traders/#comment-217041 https://irishrailwaymodeller.com/topic/14875-south-dublin-model-railway-exhibition-2023-list-of-exhibitors-and-traders/#comment-217059 https://irishrailwaymodeller.com/topic/14875-south-dublin-model-railway-exhibition-2023-list-of-exhibitors-and-traders/page/2/#comment-217245 https://irishrailwaymodeller.com/topic/15308-2024-irish-model-speculation-thread/#comment-221361 https://irishrailwaymodeller.com/topic/14004-ebay-watch/page/75/#comment-224643 https://irishrailwaymodeller.com/topic/14004-ebay-watch/page/75/#comment-224821 Given the prices that the 071's currently fetch second-hand on eBay, and I put my hand up and admit that I bought a few for far more than they were worth, myself, it will be a relief for anybody who missed out. Since they're probably pretty far along - they'd have to be if delivery is due this year - does anybody know the actual pricing or what the decoder access will be like?
-
Same, I need the DCC mumbo jumbo in broad strokes, I said BROAD STROKES, but once the mumblers start mumbling, it's all Orks and Ballrogs, no idea what they do be saying. I think that the basic premise is that anybody who wants to run two different DCC locos on the same track, using ESU decoders, will HAVE to change the address for one or the other. In the case of the IRM DBSO, you need it to have the same address as the loco, so happy days.
-
I think that all ESU decoders are shipped with the default address of 3. So, if you put one ESU decoder in the loco and one ESU decoder in the DBSO, they should both have the same address.

Has any thought been given to the possibility of selling the wider bogies and lighting kits as IRM / Accurascale accessory packs? Four bogies as one accessory pack and two lighting kits as a seperate pack, maybe? Would be lovely to be able to upgrade the older Bachmann Mk2A's to run with these.
-
Creep! Wait, are they the models or the real life coaches in the pic?

Where did you get that definite timeline, @Noel? You posted something similar here, too. The last update I remember seeing was here, from @DonderBlitzen, and there was nothing set in stone. I'd love to see more on sale, brand new, for €200, inside the next ten and a half months, but don't want to get my hopes up without some kind of source. Maybe @WRENNEIRE has posted the info and I've missed it? @Dempsey will be delighted to hear that they are guaranteed so soon, if that is the case!

That's because I know where he lives! For anybody interested, these coaches popped up on the Marks Models website yesterday! They hadn't been listed as pre-order nor anything like that, but suddenly appeared. Handy for when IRM run out, and for anybody who doesn't shop online. Hope this is helpful! http://www.marksmodels.com/?cid=51

Is it just me, or do the bogies on the last coach in your train stick out a bit more than the first two? Only viewing on my 'phone so it might just be my screen! Six or seven year old BlackBerry doesn't have the biggest screen.

I received an email from Hatton's this morning, as per @Tarabuses post here, saying that Rails of Sheffield are taking over all pre-orders placed for the Genesis coaches: https://railsofsheffield.com/search?q=genesis Nothing published on the Rails website, yet, but I sent them an email this morning, asking if they needed anything done from the buyer's end. I will post if / when they reply. I'd assume that you need to set up an account with Rails if you don't want to lose your Genesis pre-order.
-
May be worth dropping IRM an email with order no. etc? Mine shipped last week, international but it'll be a long and circuitous route.

At least you moved it on without losing too much, and it was a good price for the buyer: https://www.ebay.es/itm/126296664917 TC, get the boat, or the chopper, 'cause you're not getting €260 for a 141! https://www.ebay.es/itm/296207641617 @Mayner has his own transport company!
