  1. How dare you? We don't need more coaching stock! We need 47' Container Flats and Dublin Buses! Have you logged into your partial.ly account itself to check? Saw the spec on the website alright, but I'm wondering if there's something that's been added since then.
  2. Who's going to speculate on a joint MM / IRM Mk3 project? Suburban sets from IRM and mainline sets from MM? And since @BosKonay sold his IE autoballasters a while back, they must also be on the radar...
  3. The price is a bit of a jump over the A Class. Any inkling as to the finalised specifications, fitted speakers, cab lights, magnetic decoder hatches etc?
  4. Just received an email saying that these are now available to purchase. Did they sneak in under the radar, right under @MOGUL's nose?
  5. It's all about balance / compromise. Agreed that the livery mistake on the EGV's is a shame, and maybe it could have been caught earlier. At the same time, it hasn't stopped me splurging all over them. Yes, phrasing, @JasonB. Anybody remember @connollystn talking about how terrible the Murphy Models 201 is because of where a socket on the bumper should have been, but wasn't? It was a compromise that we have to accept in the price vs. reality debate. Also, on realism, I'm sure a TLC scales up ro something like one and a half metres. Another compromise we accept. The bogies on the Mk2D's, from chatting with forum friends, seem to be an upgrade on previous iterations. As does the bogie mounting point on the body. Both changes would have meant new toolings, yet the price is only something like €5 more than the last ones? I'm sure that some genius will run decals for the EGV sides, and solve the problem. Whethere they should or shouldn't have to is another thing, but I'm sure we'll have a solution. The mistakes on the 141's / 181's at the Raheny show were probably as @JasonB said somewhere, just bodies from the older runs used to showcase the new liveries.
  6. Meh, they're both the same thing...
  7. As with the IRM warranty, thank you! Mind still blown.
  8. We could do with a mainstream CMNL commission or two, or three, first. Those €80 and €90 eBay ones are a killer. Hatton's, God rest their souls, have a smashed up CMNL missing windscreen etc for £80 GBP!
  9. Absolutely bowled over by this. Mind. Blown. Thank you so much, IRM and Accurascale! Incredible news for the double-jobbing workaholic hoarders like me.
  10. ...uh, phrasing?
  11. These popped up the other day. The unusual thing is the price. They should be a lot cheaper if previous modus operandi is followed. Back in 2020, a shop up in Spain called Imperio del Hobby had some Cravens and Mk2D's for sale. They were relatively cheap, so I wrote to the shop. The owner, think his name is José, is a one-man band ala @WRENNEIRE or Chris Dyer. He told me that he had bought them from a shop closing down, like good old Chris used to do. On arrival, the boxes were sun-bleached and they had old price tags on them, so his story seemed legitimate. @burnthebox also bought some, but he has now sold some of his stock on via eBay, and is no longer active on the forum. Through the jigs and the reels, @WRENNEIRE informed us here on the forum that Josè had not bought these from a shop that was closing, as this was impossible. Through inside channels, he had ascertained that they were, in fact, over-produced with the original Cravens. For example, Paddy commissions 504 units, the factory produce 550 - on Paddy's Euro - and they then store the extra units for several years. Prior to storage, they put on Euro price tags, age the boxes, then contact shops like Imperio del Hobby, tell them that they're illegal over-produced units that have been stored for X years, and ask if the shops are interested. Paddy has / had a court case against Jose of Imperio, but I don't know how that went. It wasn't through the Spanish legal system, that much is certain, so was presumably through the Irish courts. The bottom line, if I recall correctly, is that the over-produced units are the property of Murphy Models, irrespective of who is claiming to have the right to sell them.
  12. Was too tired to do those sums last night! One thing that I forgot to take into account was the increased unit cost when selling individually over multi-packs. Just came back to me after seeing your breakdown. I understand that adds a lot to the unit cost. How are you down to only six versions left? Have you been eating them or something?
  13. Good point! As an anecdote... When I tried paying off my NIR coach packs, maybe a year ago or a year and a half ago, the IRM website wasn't as well laid out as today. Paying off the Mk2D's was super easy. Just wait a few seconds for the "Pay Now" button to stop moving around, scroll down to see it again, then pay. Back with the NIR coaches, there was no option to pay, and somebody told me that you had to click "Cancel and Edit" in order to pay. Did so and there was no option to pay, and in trying to cancel cancelling the order, I instead cancelled the bloody order. Got onto support and Patrick sorted it for me super fast! The one curiosity was that re-placing the order was more expensive than the original order has been. This was because the bundle discounts had been applied in error the first time around. They shouldn't have been applied as the margins were so tight on the coaches. Expensive lesson! So, I'd say the NIR coaches would be a good comparison for non-subsidised coaches, and the Park Royals would be a good comparison as subsidised coaches.
  14. Honestly can't remember whether the Accurascale Mk2B/C's piggybacked off the IRM NIR coaches or vice versa. Too long ago! Bottom line is that the MM Mk2D's are unlit, and are 21mm-friendly. Edit: Actually, thinking back, the IRM NIR Mk2B/C coaches were not launched off the back of the UK market. The IRM / AS business model was quite different back then, and the UK arm wasn't really keeping the Irish arm afloat. Somebody, possibly @Ironroad (sorry if it wasn't you) queried at launch why the NIR coaches weren't being sold individually, only in multipacks. The answer from IRM was that they couldn't risk some of the coaches not selling... They sold out super fast in the end, so their fears weren't justified, LOL, but it serves to highlight how things have changed. Also, saying that they were "never" X, Y or Z doesn't really stand up. They were never 21mm-friendly, but they are now. Things change over time. However, your point on IRM having reduced overheads compared to Paddy as they are both brand and retailer, whereas Paddy has to retail via others, is still valid. Also, for newer launches like the Park Royals, you're right, there is a distinct possibility that Accurascale sales actually have subsidised the price of the Park Royals. I wonder how earlier IRM coaches vs. Murphy Models coaches compare(d) price-wise from retailers / re-sellers.
  15. My bad, I thought that these coaches were priced on par with IRM coaches.
  16. Looks like there's plenty of room to slide each wheel 2mm further along the axle! No lighting pickups? Are the coaches illuminated? I'd just assumed that the coaches would be lit, as with IRM coaches. Racist!
  17. Could Murphy Models not just release vinyl overlays for people to apply to the coach sides themselves?
  18. How's the engineering work going?
  19. Agreed, @JasonB, @Rob just likes building the anticipation with the bi-anual updates.
  20. Love the video, Cookie Monster! Cabinets still standing?
  21. Double crap!
  22. @Rob's Heuston North is a great example of keeping space relatively clear. Maybe something like the lads say, a few low-lying piles of ballast or scrap, but with a lot of open space and nothing tall, aside from maybe a floodlight or two? True Broe-mance!
  23. Ah crap. Was the black band incorrect on the Galway EGV's that Paddy ran a few years ago, too?
  24. Hey! Phrasing! This is a family-friendly forum where a large amount of posters have a mental age under sixteen, please show some consideration!
  25. The only one of the four that is still available as of right now is: https://www.hattons.co.uk/1056101/hattons_originals_h4_6bt_1701b_6_wheel_brake_3rd_90_in_cie_dark_green/stockdetail
