  1. Before the show or after to get the whiff off the smellies off?!
  2. I managed to avoid smelly bastards on Monday thankfully. Worst ever though was a trip to Warley a few years back
  3. The look on your face was akin to a little boy who Santa forgot to visit on Christmas morning Dave when you saw that.
  4. Something from Atlas or Kato. You cant go wrong with their running abilities.
  5. They do but you have to take things like correct axle spacing etc into account. My advice would be to look Stateside for a donor. Should be a lot cheaper too and in some cases superior quality.
  6. Was great to see progress of the modules, the DART just looks so at home on it! Well done!
  7. I have to say it looked really well. Sorry I didnt take a pic of it now!
  8. Very nice Nelson. I believe that there's a piece on the free DVD with November's BRM which deals with modelling wood loads in 4mm scale. Might be worth picking up.
  9. jeez louise! the detail is something else!
  10. A redoing of the Bandon Tank kit, with Belphare dome etc
  11. Got over for an hour or two today. Talked the ears off Wrenneire as per, met Richie, Des, Baseboard Dave and Eoin. Modules look great, as the the O gauge layout opposite. Thanks to Chris Dyer for another bargain. Great show and well done to the MRSI!
  12. All I can say is 'Watch This Space' for the moment while the creator works his evil genius.
  13. You'd need to give it some whack with an angle grinder. Having both a Dapol and Heljan Wizzo I'd say go for the Heljan, better runners. Not overly impressed with the Dapol one though it does look a better model on the outside. There is another way though. I'm sure it will become apparent soon
  14. Great news Des. Will be looking to get some flats and get soldering!
  15. That Scotrail scratchbuilt DBSO is a beaut Dhu Varren. Top work!
  16. And half of them have been amongst the mods!
  17. The figures for here over the past year have doubled when it comes to postings etc (which was posted on another thread today) so I think you're right in that sense. Although I dont really model Irish my interests tend to be in the past for the most part too. However, there were people bemoaning the loss of steam once and thought the hobby would die with the introduction of diesels. That hasnt happened. They might not be your bag (and to be honest, not mine either) but I bet there are a few out there that would be into railcars currently on Irish rails. And as people grow up around them they will be sad to see them leave the rails one day too.
  18. The man who posted the stats. We all owe him a lot of thanks for facilitating the site and saving it in its hour of need.
  19. Plenty of people didnt understand the question. He wasnt punished, just reminded of the rules which he subsequently responded to and corrected. Happy days. You seem to be the only one making a meal out of it.
  20. Rules are rules Dave. Plenty of people use this site and dont use text messaging. There's no harm making something easy to understand for everybody. As I said, common courtesy.
  21. It's common cortuesy to phrase a question/request correctly. It can come across ignorant or rude otherwise. A properly formed sentence isnt too much to ask for, is it?
  22. It makes the loco look like a simpleton!
  23. In fairness, I think the vast majority of this minority don't have our heads up our arses. You'd wonder why Paddy Murphy bothers sometimes; the cheek of him bringing out a new model to satisfy demand and look to make some money off it to put food in his belly!!! Anyway, wonder what the model railway scene is like in North Korea?
  24. I need to glaze and light mine. Then there's the conundrum of putting different bogies under it for it to run in an era that interests me more and repowering the thing. Decisions, decisions...
