  1. Well use the ones that do for ideas. There's magazines, YouTube and Clubs too to explore. And there's a lot to be said for doing something original. Use your imagination.
  2. If you look at what people have posted in the layout section you'll see them. No need to be so lazy!
  3. I can't stick to anything. I even have different coasts! UP, BNSF, Santa Fe, Southern Pacific, BN, NY Central, New Haven, Pennsy, Penn Central, Conrail, NS, CSX, Chessie and CN are in the fleet off the top of my head. And don't get me started on eras.... US stuff is saved by power running through from one railroad to another and I like variety. When I do run stuff I keep it to locos that could feasibly be run together and stock to match rather than say running my NY Central 20th Century Limited next to a trio of ACes and Gevos. I do subscribe to the 'it's my railway I'll run what I like' philosophy. At the end of the day do what suits you. I'd love to be more disciplined and focused but I've resigned myself to the fact that it will never happen!
  4. Take the body off. The chip plug is on top of the chassis. Check the instructions for a guide.
  5. Run it? Why did you take the fuel tank off? Happy Christmas to one and all!
  6. Do we have to guess what's inside Noel?
  7. Q1 arrived safely today. Always wanted one but never got around to it till now. Cheers man!
  8. Hornby A4s are nice but I wouldn't be paying that for them just because they come in a slightly different box.
  9. You do get a free wall cabinet if you buy all 6 though. They're beautiful locos and I have a few A4s already, but these with a premium didn't appeal to me.
  10. Having seen this baby in the plastic I can say that even those pics dont do it justice. Spectacular build, paint and man it's huuge!
  11. Delete your browsing history and try again? I have invested wisely....
  12. Yes, but you may have to get someone to tweak the decoder CVs on DCC before running it on DC. It depends on the decoder.
  13. I have a Walthers one that looks similar but not quite as beefy. I plan tying up a wrecked Athearn SW1500 body I have going spare to it. http://www.ovrtrains.com/Walthers-Platinum-Line-Rolling-Stock-66-Heavy-Duty-4-Truck-Flatcar-Union-Pacific-50032.html 70s due early January.
  14. Nice one! In fairness the Tsunami sounds are the best around. Great to see Bachmann include them for such a reasonable price!
  15. Jesus don't say that, about to go over the barrow on a very late Galway Dublin!
  16. Best pic yet. I have to say this confirms to me that they're nicer in Colas than in Freightliner, but by god they're still mingers! http://www.railpictures.net/photo/462432
  17. hubba hubba! Give you a ring later on.
  18. Good man yourself!
  19. There is a OO Scale kit of a Volvo F12 made by Knightwing. They also do DAF 2800s, Mercs and Fodens as well as trailers. http://www.knightwing.co.uk/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?product=OO-HO_Road_Transport_Kits&cart_id=1387288810.325
  20. I like the demo livery. Very nice!
  21. Yes! 071s shouting the house down.
  22. While sound is not my thing it will be interesting to see how they sound and if they're available separately. It's about time they laughed some sense into the price of sound chips.
  23. Hornby range for 2014 announced here http://www.hornby.com/shop/2014-range/ Intercity HST and coaches, Coal class 60 and maybe some of the Mark II's for me. Nice range it has to be said.
  24. Love it Des, top work!
  25. Better pics here Dash 8 so it was...
