    Customs & VAT

Look out for the little round IOSS logo on those Hattons parcels. It's printed on the label but it's pretty small. Maybe take a pic of it if it's there and post it up. The missus dumped the box before I could take a pic last time.
  2. I've also ordered a copy on bookdepository.com. Does anyone know if the retailers will have the book already on the publication date and can ship immediately?
  3. I guess the blue springs are rated higher if they are under a GSV.
  4. When did the fallen flag Bells start appearing? Would they ever have appeared in a train of fallen flag Bells or only individually?
  5. Here's a mk2d with all red springs: https://paulinemckenna.smugmug.com/BW/1993/Ireland-/i-73VNBbh Some mk3's appeared to have had these blue things, perhaps some sort of damper fitted also: https://paulinemckenna.smugmug.com/BW/1993/Ireland-/i-CFv8xt9 Mk1 GSV with blue springs: https://paulinemckenna.smugmug.com/BW/1996/Ireland-1996/i-pr74833 Another mk2d with red springs: Freshly painted mk2b: https://paulinemckenna.smugmug.com/BW/1996/Ireland-1996/i-2S6qWjC
  6. Kevin I think you've seen this pic yourself already judging by the comments That is definitely in revenue service I'd say. There's a few miles of dirt on it I'd say.
  7. There are certainly pics in the Irish Railway Rambler book of Mk3 stock with yellow painted springs dating from the late 80's at the latest. At least some Mk2 stock had red painted springs around the same time.
  8. The bogies need to be painted brown if you want them entirely prototypical with those earlier containers however. If that bothers you.
  9. The spoils wagons are the same. Just pull the spoils containers off them. If none left on IRM webshop try Marks Models
  10. I always find that the light blue NIR shade (is it French blue?) looks way lighter on the MM model of 111 than any pictures I've ever seen of it. I know pics can be deceiving etc.
  11. I got good service from here: https://www.zinnfigur.com/en/Paints-Tools/Tools/?makairaFilter[NEW]=true
  12. Seagoebox you don't know how much time I spent squinting at that picture in the book of 4104 taken from the other end of the coach, trying to figure out how tall the toilet window was. Great pictures indeed. I'd love to see more if you've got any.

Hopefully a sign things are starting to bed in.
  14. They are a smashing looking container. I looked into the history of the company previously in the hope they'd staggered into my mid 90's era but they were long gone by then. I might have guessed one or two would have appeared in a liner but that's quite a picture. I wonder was the freight sent TIR from GB via Dublin port to Belfast or was it destined for the Republic.
  15. I'm just going to live with the minor enough differences between liveries until MM or IRM someday release the correct ones. If I started down that road I would have to renumber much of my stock to numbers that were around in the given livery in 1995.
  16. Is that the October issue? I don't normally buy it as it isn't easily available here but I will ask for a copy to be dispatched post haste for that review.

    Customs & VAT

I've thought that for a while but I saw that IOSS logo on the last Hattons parcel which I presume means the VAT has been paid to the EU. The parcel wasn't stopped. I don't order much from them but I will keep an eye on the next one whenever that may be.

    Customs & VAT

My latest parcel from Hattons arrived with no customs. I noticed a small IOSS logo on the Royal Mail printed label. I will be looking out for it in future, especially on parcels that are stopped. Remember that the thresholds are much higher for items brought in personally when compared to parcels. I think it's €430 per passenger (on stuff other than tobacco and alcohol) before anything would be due.
  19. Side by side here: https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/166677-mark-2b-by-accurascale-and-irm/&do=findComment&comment=4561662 This looks pretty damn good to me. The gangway is marginally higher on the sample but the bogie is warped very slightly too, so when that's rectified on the production models one would imagine they would be a near perfect match in terms of ride height. Very much looking forward to making up a rake of IR/IE ones like that some day. They will look fantastic together.
  20. Terrible way to run a business. Word gets around and it's not exactly convenient for most people so you're much less likely to just chance it if you know they are unreliable.
  21. Congrats on the baby MOGUL! It's rare we talk babies here and are not referring to the 8 cylinder two stroke diesel kind.
