A nice coat of GSR Grey if you went spotting on April 1st you were no fool! And yes. There is a few more floating around, however, moving them is slightly more uncertain

Photographic Website Updates

One of the best chasing trips I’ve done in a long time if not ever, great day out. -
My favourite are the wide shots, unlike most of the photos I’ve ever seen from that era! https://flic.kr/p/2qUMFEk https://flic.kr/p/2qUU6eq https://flic.kr/p/2qUMFEf https://flic.kr/p/2qUU6dU https://flic.kr/p/2qUTqfg https://flic.kr/p/2qUT9rD https://flic.kr/p/2qUMLAc and of course some west cork pictures, especially Of the bandon tanks of which I need references are much appericiated! https://flic.kr/p/2qUS3RE

Some are worked by ICR’s. Like I’m not an expert but usually the first train out of cork to Dublin and the last train from Dublin to cork is generally an ICR @Mol_PMB I forgot, but a surefire way to check is by trying to book a ticket for said train. The seating statements of the seat books and if there is a “quiet coach” in Coach G will tell you if it’s a mark 4 -
I like this era cause it’s colourful and by far the highest variety of any era that’s pretty much it lol

Making an ‘E’ – the Maybach Diesel Model Assembly thread
Westcorkrailway replied to Mol_PMB's topic in Irish Models
Infairness, the last thing I would want is my fingerprints all over a world class paint job… like a symbol that everyone knew I was a fool. Ray Good will be on board. You should ask him how the E’s performed in west cork! -

You might not be the only person brining a model on board that day for viewing… that being said, the lack of tables on the 2600s are a pain! -

Fair enough. Picture in fenit would be nice! I took this photo on the 17th of March 2021. Exactly 60 years to the day since the 1961 farewell tour passed through Bandon. -
I remember once I picked up the passage sign in that shop. The lady came over and said “that’s cork and bandon railway” I said “ehh no it’s China, Burma and Pakistan railway” by the way guys I have these for swap or for sale on the next tailte tour

While refreshments aren’t provided. (I don’t think there is a trolly service this time!) brining your own supplies is fine. I flash back to the last 2600 tour to Waterford. A dunnes stores bag full of cans! The lack of a table makes it even more fun! @Niles can we make up a makeshift bar -
Work was done on it to send it to fenit, but that work was taken by something else. The MGWR locos certainly would be a good shout. All the obscure Midland branches it got too…. On Bandon tanks, they certainly seemed well liked in Dublin. William McDonnell said he’d have preferred another batch of Bandons to the 670 and 850 class! 2 lasted until 1963, 4 or 5 made it to the 1960s. 2 locos got into CIE lined green. I’ve only found a colour photo of 467 heavily weathered but I suspect is wearing green under the filth. 466 is the other loco. There is also this Ex works photo on the archive. Appears to show 467 in green (look at the lining on the tanks) https://flic.kr/p/2pwnTtN the rebuilds of them can get a bit confusing though. Especially 463’s condition for its final 15 years.

“The Irish Corridor” an Irish Train game

Roblox studio I’m sure. Good railway chat on that discord too mind you. Probobly one of the only places where the vast majority are young rather then old. Certainly a different view of a community -

All dart units are made by a member of the team that exclusively loves Darts. 8200s are 99 percent done. 81s are more like 60 percent. Realism isint the aim. You can run 8200s to Kildare if you like all development activity happens through discord unfortunatly. The group link invite is below https://discord.gg/XC8BAvGN -
“The Irish Corridor” an Irish Train game

Sometimes, a bit of tomfoolery when making the models is required -
Hello all slightly different from the modeling we are all used to! These are models for a new railway simulator being worked on presently. It will be based from Dublin - Kildare and if proven popular enough, might be extended in the future. The game is featuring accurate sound recordings of each class. And while NPC trains are not possible, multiplayer will be essentially a core part of the experience. As it is part of the Roblox experience, It will be free to run. Below are some of the stuff almost finished thus far

CIE loco 'allocations' to depots

This would have been the case in the early 1950s but regular steam passenger traffic had finished by 1955/6 so a different arrangement had to have been made from then on -

I wish we did!!!! lol but IRM are not going to spoil a model just so people can get running numbers they like. C201 in plain silver is a dead on but other then That it’s free real estate. I’d l love C231 in lined green, C212 in unlined green and C202 in silver, but highly unlikely that will come to pass and I’ll have to get onto a decal remover! liveries Silver Green Lined Green Dark lined green (?) Black Black Yellow panel black yellow panel with yellow buffer Black and Tan low band Black and Tan high band supertrain NIR thinking about it. C226 and C231 would probobly be in there liveries, maybe not as preserved but that would make sense -

That being said, litterally every single C class ended up on the West Cork system within 2 years. It’s also suspected that a fair amount of the AEC sets did as well. So even by this stage it was a very much chop, change and rotate system -
I don’t see any 450 class bud
