  1. Nice job Stephen-where did you get the lighting tower? I could do with a few like that dotted around the depot and yard...
  2. It was low in power HF...it was better to exchange it at Kildare rather for it to breakdown later in the journey and block up any sections to Ballina.
  3. A few photos from the nerve centre of Tara Jctn-the MPD.... 7077 and 7078 were overdue exams so were recalled this evening for attention A couple of shunting moves were needed to free up the running shed roads to allow both locos access to the shed, The fitters gather around the locos....while over on the mainline recently released loco 229 gets a trial run All hands on deck.....!!! Barry-the expert fitter has the task of checking out loco 7078 for water....note the orange paint on the fan housing....this housing came from loco 087... Barry is still hard at it as 229 and a Sulzer 101 pass each other on the mainlines while operating light engine movements...photo taken from the top of the MPD building After 7078 gets sorted out,Barry turns his attention to 7077,both locos are needed back into traffic as they are popular and powerful according to drivers that have worked them While Barry was checking the Water levels on 7078-he manged to sneak a photo of other locos receiving attention at the depot....on the right is 234 which has been passed for service while on the left 210 is shutdown-needing a bit more TLC to get her back in action....

  13. Lots of space, and lots of operating potential, nice work Tom,look forward to your updates and in particular that viaduct...well done.
  14. Evening lads, Some engineering works have taken place at the North junction area of Tara junction today with a Perway possession of the up and down bi-directional lines, One of the former Hornby express points was replaced with the better quality PECO point , After the point was installed it was time to call up the HOBS train first and this was hauled by 7078 078 is seen here slowly hauling the HOBS train from the ballast loading sidings heading for the worksite. 078 overtakes a slow moving and heavy IWT liner which is being hauled by sister loco-077. 078 arrives at the worksite-the driver awaits further instructions from the Perway inspector, Tamper 751 has started work on the opposite line. The HOBS train discharges some ballast while the driver of Tamper 751 awaits more instructions. An engineers eye view of the completed express point-the inspector has instructed the Tamper driver to move back to allow the HOBS train to discharge ballast over the new point.
  15. Excellent stuff Irish thump-Your driving skills and use of the various functions are top class, lovely looking layout, well done..... Having watched your video again, you can also use the F9 button on the curves to give the flange squeal to good effect.

  18. Just to clarify the above point-214 was hauled back to Inchicore from Ballina on 14/08/09 by loco 152 which had operated light engine the previous day having hauled back failed 082 from Ballina on 11/08/09, Accident damaged 225 was hauled back from Roscommon station up siding by 078 with six empty bogie timber wagons behind 225 to act as brake force as 225s braking system was damaged...
  19. Excellent work Kieran-I'm loving the yard area, I'd recommend using the Gaugemaster industrial back scene as a suitable back round....but at the end of the day that's up to you....well done on an excellent layout.
