  1. Superb in size, detail, workmanship, etc etc
  2. Stephen, please stop showing that Enterprise Rake it’s just feeding my jealously pangs.
  3. A very innovative project and one I have not seen modelled before. Good luck on its progress.
  4. Built by Glenderg who did an excellent job and is on this site.
  5. Thank you for your detailed report on progress so far.
  6. Dave I was browsing through some DVD’s and in Rail Freight Today Ireland (TeleRail), it did a bit on Ammonia Trains arriving and now they were unloaded as well as the Fertiliser wagons leaving with the finished product. Little on the buildings, more on how it worked.
  7. Got my Canopy from Glenderg but I have to do a few minor bits and pieces before I glue it to the station and the station to the platform. I’ve done the scenic work from there round to the Cattle Pens but can’t finish the level crossing until I get the new bridge covering from Glenderg. All other scenic work has been finished in the Cattle Pens area. I’ve covered it in a short video showing No. 74 Class 70 railcar.
  8. Very impressive start Dave, I see you have been doing your homework. Looking forward to see this progressing to the layout stage.

    BBC4 Wed 9 P.M

Thanks for the heads up on this one
  10. Great start, thanks Eamonn
  11. A great leap forward not only for Irish models but a new standard set in the modeling world - well done Mr Murphy, it's quite an achievement.
  12. Good man Eamonn for taking the plunge. I’m about to practice soldering one of Des’s Brake Van kits and once it get it finished I shall be following you. Keep posting your progress please.
  13. Another model scene comes to life.
  14. No sooner have you cleared up your layout area and it just gets crowded again. It’s very difficult to keep it clear unless you are one of those very organised persons. As long as it is progressing I wouldn’t worry too much, it’s going the right way.
  15. Another short video showing UTA Jeep No.50 and GNR (I) Cattle Wagons and Cattle Pens
  16. Short video of my new Mark 3 Rake in SuperTrain livery
  17. Finished my rake of Mk3’s in Supertrain livery. Hope to do a short video on the layout later.
  18. Hidden Agenda suggested I need more Cattle Wagons which prompted me to dig out a batch of Provincial Wagons kits I had bought almost a year ago. The kits are easy enough to put together but I adapted one so that the door can open and close. My only problem was the transfers, the rub on type, some just disintegrated when I tried to rub them on, maybe there is a shorter shelf life with this type of transfer? See my layout page for more pictures
  19. Thanks Scahalane for the video, it was not an easy way of loading cattle, some gates or more men would have made the job alot easier.
  20. Isn’t the simplest suggestion always the best one, thanks for sharing that one Anthony.

    New IÉ logo...

I’m surprised that IE has not launched their new Logo in a blaze of publicity. What better way of confirming this change than by asking IE. After spending 10 minutes on their web site looking how or where to ask this question I fell back on the Heritage Section and emailed Gregg Ryan. Will let you know the response when I get it.
  22. Some lovely camera shots, the person who took it had an eye for detail
  23. As I had got some of Leslie’s (Provincial Wagons) Cattle Wagon Kits I had to display them in the proper surroundings. I adapted two Raito Cattle Docks to fit the space I had set aside on the layout. I modified one of the wagons so that the door could open and close to provide a more realistic scene. With that through put of livestock there is always a residue left behind and the is always someone who gets the job of shovelling s..t. It can be approached from either side with walkways to the Cattle pens. I’m not sure how protypical this scene would be in Ireland, if fact then only photograph I can recall was the one in Rails through The West where they were loading Cattle of the Platform in Ennis.
  24. It would be hard to milk those bullocks but your point about removing the plastic bases which got covered in overspray (are nearly all model cattle Friesian?) is one I will defiantly get around to.
