Looking great @Adrian. You have some time put into that, but well worth it. Maybe you should stay away from the ol Heineken when operating power tools, and you might never end up with broken saw blades ha ha . Only kidding. Perhaps you will tell me it is non alcoholic. I am a Joiner by trade for 43 years and the thought of beer and power tools mixing is absolutely alien to me. Anyway, you are doing a cracking job, keep it up That was some amount of cutting you got through without a chop saw..... Looking forward to more updates

Spare me! I have a Porsche too - It is about 3 inches long and sits on a shelf above my train layout. Bet you tell nobody about your car?....... My late Mam had a good saying- "if you can't say anything good, say nothing at all".

Hi Brendan. Maybe you should just send it back to the lads at IRM under warranty. I had trouble with the 141/181 that I bought from the new batch too. As you say, my older one MM 141 is a far better runner. I found IRM (Patrick)great to deal with. When I wasn't happy with the first replacement they took it back again and it came back perfect. You should not have to "tweak" anything after paying out for a brand new product. As I say IRM were more than accommodating. Sorry fot the late reply Derek

You're fine @Stoby. If said Fair Man wants to reveal himself, it's up to him. ............... If I come across an orange set , I will be sure to let you know. Keep a handy 250 in a safe place

Fools and their money and all that.............. I got 3 sets in the past 6 months from a very fair man for 125euro a set. Oh well........

Jaysus! The King Edward fairly whips it down the incline. Couldn't reach the controller to slow it down and film at the same time Thought it was gonna fly off the layout at one stage

Might get on to IKEA and see if they want to buy the copyright to my crane before I give it the bin.

Thanks for that @Broithe. Might have a go at something like that....... Or just buy one if it's possible.....

The ol crane is pretty c****py now that I see it close up. It was a real rush job, and boy doesn't it look it? I am happy enough with the black parts (arm, cable and grab) but the cab and base are heading for the bin. The design came straight out of my head, so if any of you could provide me with pics of something more true to life, I would be eternally grateful.

Made a coal yard, just outside of town. Have a look, see what ye think First of all, the basic yard... Then some additions... and then some business...

Aaargh! I have just read all 43 pages of this tread, eagerly waiting to see how far it got , only to find out the terrible outcome. It was like reading a great page turner, only to come to the big plot twist at the end. Turns out the villain was some maniac with a big hammer and a crowbar. Seriously though this layout was absolutely fantastic as it was developing. I should have smelled a rat when the updates went from almost daily to a lot more infrequent. (and the pic of the "bombed out" attic on the right of the page was a bit of a giveaway). Still I understand how life can get in the way of these things. Looking forward to the second coming of Amiens Street Terminus

Love the signal box, Kevin

Ah shur, I said I was saying nothin. And it's Dave needs the spoon. I'm sure the coaches will be beautiful, but I don't really need a lot of stock, and with the cravens I got I will be just fine. No really. I will just be over here in the corner silently sobbing Best of luck with them

Dave , you must have very big spoons with the amount of stirring you are doing

Absolutely fantastic! I love looking at Alan's tread on The Stone Yard ( The Narrow Gauge One) as well as Loughan Key. I think half of his view count could be down to me. The level of detail is exceptional. A true masterclass. . And great pics Patrick by the way

Thanks Kevin, it looks great. I have a box of Woodland Scenics water which I am working up the courage to have a go at.
-
Looking forward to this one Kevin. I seem to be asking everyone this lately, but what did you use for the water effect. And any chance of a closer look at it please?
-
Sheesh, never came across that stuff before. It does look a lot simpler than the W/S stuff ok. Oh well, I have it now so I am gonna use it even if it kills me. The W/S water was a lot more expensive too- 33 euro I think. And I am not too sure how much it will cover. Hopefully do my river from one box. Hopefully.............

Very nice. What did you use for water? I have a Woodland Scenics kit for a while but haven't gotten around to using it yet. Roll on next month

God John, ye were spoiled in Dublin with such a choice of shops stocking model railways. The only alternative we had in Limerick to Tots to Teens was when Ryans Hardware (also on Patrick St.) would stock up on toys for the Christmas season, and a few train sets would be included. We didn't know how to handle all of the options
