How many were in a typical beet train in the 80s?

Am unsure if WSVR pit it there or it was in situ when CIE abandoned the station.

Interestingly, there was a semaphore signal placed in that location some time later. Am not sure if that has any connection to the item shown.

Hi folks, Can anyone advise what the piece of infrastructure is, outlined in green? I am guessing it is a platform for the signalman to hand over the ETS token to a driver? Are there any other photos of such infrastructure or plans? Believe 4 levers left and some of the mechanism below. Inspecting of the timbres is due to be undertaken this week. Unsure how much is worth saving. Windows are basic aluminium frames. Wooden sills and panelling fairly rotten.

Mayner, I was simply noting changes on the line. Actually there is an effort to preserve what is left of the mechanism by the WSVR.

With the closure of the New Ross line and the planned new development of a station opposite the clock tower in Waterford as part of the North Quays development, Abbey Junction Signal Box is soon to be removed by the contractors, BAM.

Once the tallest in Ireland, Portarlington signal cabin , County Laois , was built in the 1920s. It closed in 1976 and was later demolished. This photo dated 20th May 1971 Image source the Carlisle Kid

Tullow Railway Station signal cabin (no longer in existence I believe) Rathvilly Signal Box (unsure but existed in 1981)

Woodenbridge Station, Co Wicklow

Macmine Junction - station no longer in existence as DSER Macmine to New Ross line closed.

Kilmacthomas signal cabin, before and after restoration, no equipment remaining inside. Durrow & Stradbally Signal Box, now only a fragile shell.

Old Dalkey signal box. Also now gone some time in the 80s.

Even earlier one of Rosslare Harbour before its extension.

Rosslare Strand station - no longer in existence. Early signal box in Rosslare Harbour - long gone. And I believe the same signal box in 1993. It separated the shore line (to engine shed etc. and the pier which was later the Europort station.

Wellington Bridge - intact but not in use. Line is closed (for now).

Gorey - still in place, intact, but not in use.
