  1. Lovely job on the flat wagons. Can't wait to see the finished painted model.
  2. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC54wbFixJ3rEZXJx3sp5WEA/videos a link to my channel
  3. Okay thanks, I will have a look at them over the weekend
  4. Can you get peco points that are the same size as hornby ones?
  5. Yep it's a hornby. It's been in use for at least ten years now, and in noticeably worse condition than all my other points, I may just replace it
  6. Cleanin didnt do any good unfortunately
  7. That section gets cleaned as often as the rest. I will give it a wee extra clean though and see if anything happens
  8. The sunlight really brings out the detail in the locos
  9. For a while now, locos have been slowing down a bit when they enter a particular section of the layout. Then about 3-4 feet later they speed up again. The slow section starts at a set pf points. Any idea what could be causing it? I am running standard DC control if that is important
  10. Happy birthday! That f unit set looks the business
  11. Thanks ttc!
  12. On NIR shunting is done by 111s and 201s these days, in the past hunslets shunted Adelaide, and before that the DH class were used for shunting and PW duties. "Rail Runabout" has some good photos of the DH class.
  13. Thanks guys
  14. I think an oo SD70Ace would do a heck of a job smashing model platform edges! Other than that it would certainly be impressive!
  15. great photos. Model junction have a sale on genesis sd70Aces at the moment, and its my birthday on monday so im really tempted to put any money i get towards one. Did the mehano come with the tension lock or did you swap it in?
  16. Im sure sure it's a very good loco, but it just looks too European for my liking. The class 70s I like though, the narrow hood unit style looks really well
  17. It's really nice. Is it plastic or card?
  18. I'm not certain, but I think it is either because the DD stock is bufferless, or uses knuckle couplers, so a translator barrier is needed when a 111 shunts them
  19. Looks good. Where did you get the water tower?
  20. I think it would be more practical to have at least 1 gangwayed end to a set, so as to be able to pass along the length of the train. for example, if you got on a six piece CAF and the part you are in is full, you're stuffed, but with a gangway you could look all along for a seat.
  21. thats a lovely little set. pity it never caught on
  22. In all honesty, that model is so so good it could conceivably have come out of that heljan box. Lovely, lovely job!
  23. The great thing about this scene is that it really looks like a working railway from that era. Great layout!
  24. Reading this, its strange for me to think of the 80 class as the newest thing, with only one set left running now and it being such a draw for enthusiasts.
