  1. Thanks for the kind comments one and all. The magazine was made possible by the support of our sponsors some of whom are members here to mark the 40th anniversary of the club. Re the lack of refreshments at the show, it has been noted and I will bring it back to the organising team in our club but at this stage I will not promise anything. I must say I enjoyed the show and meeting old friends and making some new ones. Kind regards Paul R.
  2. I will playing trains on 'Lucan South' at the show. Kind regards Paul R.
  3. Well done Stephen and the team - good luck with the new venture. Paul R.

  5. Thanks JHB for the warm welcome yesterday at DCDR and the access and wealth on information provided throughout the day , there is a book in that alone. You never cease to amaze me with you wealth of knowledge on all things railway and not just relating to the island of Ireland. Have to agree with Warbonnet the amount of young talent and their entusiasm shows DCDR is in safe hands for future generations. Thanks again for a most enjoyable day. Paul R.
  6. A question for the Group I would like to know the history of the Tara Mines wagons and in particular the following questions 1. When and for how long did the Wagons run in their Blue colour for in real life? 2. When di the tops/lids change from ribbed to Flat ? I understand that the change came about as a result of storm damage at the time Dates around these two questions would be much appreciated - apologies if these questions were asled in some previous thread Thanks Paul R.

  10. Sean You should find most of them in kit form from http://www.roadtransportimages.com The owner is taking some time out at present but is due back in circulation in March/April time I think. The detail of the cabs is incredible - I purchased some from him at Warley. Thanks Paul.
  11. 1. A Class Specifically not including the 121 as this will be covered by Paddy Murphy at some point - patience is a virtue!!!!!!! and we know that is will be a quality model based on the ones to date.
  12. Now stabled at Dun Laoghaire waiting to go into service!
  13. Hi John, count me in too - will definitely take some from you. PR

  15. Great pictures Seamus, ah I remember them well flying over the house a few times before they landed in the helipad at the National Rehabilitation Centre back in the date. Paul R.
  16. Sorry to hear of your sad loss Seamus. Paul R.
  17. Ah , that explains it ! Paul R. Consider the cow weathered and I do believe she was recently returned from an alien scientific project.
  18. Seamus, Where is the milled peat going, for Briquettes or garden compost ? Paul R.
  19. That cow has a very suspicious look about her! PR
  20. Phil Well done on the hedge, as well as the tyre , you could add a bit of black polythene too (bin liner) as the pest was covered with it waiting transfer to the power station. Paul R.
  21. Phil Fantastic work so far - navy blue for the overalls. from memory the hard hats were white, no idea why but I clearly remember seeing the trains working and the other machines mill the peat as a nipper while helping turn hand cut turf near to where they worked in the midlands in the late 70s/early 80s - so I can assue you your modelling brings back memories ........ and of being eaten alive by midges (mosquitoes). Paul R.
