And yes, as DJ mentions answering multiple queries on our support channels, often from the same person is very time intensive and does take some time to get back to people while trying to also resolve the issues with our 3PL. I am hoping to get to peoples tickets in the next few days as time allows By way of an update, we have now resolved the issue with the VAT set up, done a few tests orders to confirm it works, and customer orders are now shipping, hopefully with no one getting payment requests from DPD.. I am working on updating the tracking on people’s orders on their IRM accounts at the moment, and hope to have this done by lunchtime tomorrow.. The system should email the tracking info as normal once I update your order Sorry to the delay everyone, but hopefully the wagons are worth the wait..

Not really, that was a one off that slipped out of the warehouse and I know why it happened. We are working on the VAT situation in the background and will only be shipping orders once we are happy that people won’t be getting VAT requests. Should be all in place in the next few days and then the floodgates from the warehouse will really open

We have a date set to move the stock out of Dublin warehouse but with the complexities of shipping to the U.K. and other overseas markets post brexit, we couldn’t risk having returns going back to the Dublin warehouse after we have de stocked it.. You would be surprised how many returns from the U.K. we have with people either thinking the DPD VAT request was a scam, that they have already paid the VAT, or that they bought from a U.K. warehouse etc or even just forgetting to pay the Vat on time etc. This means we had to end overseas shipping before domestic Irish shipping.. For our U.K. customers, you can still pre-order via Accurascale(ICRs, Park Royal’s and Hunslets at the moment) and we will also have the usual small surplus/ cancellations stock for the Esso tanks, H vans and Grains vans in about a week or two once we have cleared the pre-orders. We will also likely have a small amount of unsold stock from our Dublin warehouse to list on Accurascale, mainly bulleid opens and the last few magnesite packs.. You never know, we might even find a few packs of bulleid flats

Stretching rule 1 a little, you could have Fenit handling exports of harbour crane parts from Liebherr in Fossa.. It still handles these to this day, and I’m fairly sure Liebherr did make use of rail at one stage, just not to Fenit obviously.. A look at the rail freight to the far north of Scotland for the oil industry gives a good idea of what could be handled -Pipes on flat wagons - Drilling mud in tank wagons or offshore tanks(think tank containers but smaller) - Drill heads in open wagons, with Cameron in Longford the destination for these

Sorry, a comprehensive guide to the tail lights has been on our to do list for a while in Irm towers( it’s a long list!) You will need two batteries, one of top of the other.. It is a tight fit, but once you get a knack for it it’s easily done.. Just a tip for anyone that wants to add some to a 42ft flat, the dapol containers have removable floors, which makes fitting and threading the wires for the lights even easier.. I secured the light fittings to the sidewall of my container with double sided tape(€1.50 a roll in deals when I was buying the batteries) so they weren’t moving around in the container and the wires getting tangled..

I managed to get to the storage unit earlier this week and clear it out in time for Christmas.. So here is a resprayed dapol KTA wagon.. For me it was promising enough to go ahead and order two more plus the conversion pack and decals from SSM

Depends on the reefer, but those are about right.. Although there are odd balls like the ECS carpet containers, that are 2550mm wide on the hinges.. They all fit in the Irish rail CPWs, but the reefers don’t seat on the pins, so 45ft reefers are no longer allowed to be carried in them..

Never seen a pic of one with that livery, only the Blue.. Was it different liveries for different fuel, or was the Blue a later livery does anyone know?

They are grey, originally a darker shade but this quickly faded.. The wagon in Fred’s pick has a coating of track dirt and brake dust on it which give it a reddish tinge.. They got repainted before returning to service earlier this year and are now dark grey again

Can I suggest a perusal of the late Fred Deans Flickr with shots of them in their first life on the Cork line where Hapag Lloyd 40ft HCs(both reefers and dries) and MSC 40ft HCs(mainly dries) were regular loads.. Both of these have been modelled a few times, by C rail, Dapol and I think maybe Hornby.. Second video is an IWT liner, not a DFDS.. Hence the 40ft containers
