  1. Can't make it this year, as I have my own newly tooled arrival due early in October.. First show since IRM was a thing(that one was fun!) that I will miss but can't be helped! I'm sure there will be regular updates on here to keep me in the loop!
  2. I only have the Translink and Ulsterbours tours Irizars at the moment(same as the Marks buses).. But there is a nice EFE translink Wright bus(sold mine to DJ), and also an Optare solo(used for Causeway tours) available also, but hard to get as they are older models.. This thread by @WRENNEIRE is a good summary as it covers most of the Northern buses
  3. I think adding shops like this could be handy, especially for O gauge modellers! We seem to get a lot of UK shops listed on Irish websites as souces, but Brexit has killed that mostly.. So mainland EU shops can be a good replacement source for things like layout materials, vehicles, containers etc
  4. Imma leave this here http://www.britishmodelbuses.com/Britbus.htm
  5. Nah, too small for that, you’d have it cleared out in a week and be looking for more! We only use the20ft reefers to send stuff to New Caledonia(pop 270000) these days.. It’s even more out there islandy than your island @DJ Dangerous!
  6. Looks the job, the container is a highcube, and the extra height does it favours it making it look in scale.. just needs some rust on the corner castings and the tractor unit needs a smear of grease on the 5th wheel and a few breakfast roll wrappers in the cab window!
  7. €250 for a 141 with the wrong box, pass thanks.. Miss getting them in Hattons for £90(not that long ago)
  8. At least we know there is something other than a stapler in the boxes! Very nice, how much did that set you back Dave?
  9. Those look like they would have put a big dent in the bank balance! Any pics of them out of the boxes?
  10. it's more a case of did my wallet survive Check your mail, might be able to help with above!

What my mind thought when combining this comment and the forum thread Vessel stack collapse on ONE APUS: Dublin 2018, Glad it was only a Qashqai
  12. Castlebar has no loop, so would need to include some form of Runaround.. Likely two sidings off the UP side with a facing point on the Dublin side of Castlebar.. Cunninghams yard is close to the line and already has a reach stacker in operation.. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/brian-cunningham-669940b7_a-massive-thanks-to-everyone-at-harrington-activity-6866470744340123649-11ca?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop
  13. DFDS used their own, both dry and reefers(require in winter months to prevent freezing).. IWT hauled for BG and also some CLDNs
  14. The 20 a day figureis misconstrued, the Baxter’s supply chain manager mentioned it but it is their total output, not what is moving with XPO/Samskip.. Most goes via Dublin with ECS and DFDs, both using road haulage..Obviously the proportion may change if the depot in Castlebar gets built
  15. Not really, DFDS and IWT have both also transported Baxter loads by rail at various times over the past few years
  16. It's not a new freight flow, it's just 6-8 export loads a week from Baxter to Waterford using the existing XPO train instead of going by road to Dublin.. The article seems to be based off the PR
  17. After 20 months in Portlaoise waiting on the pen pushers to do their thing, the Kirow has been unleashed to the wilds today! Doing a tour of the network this week(likely for gauging purposes)
  18. It just happens that I ran into a man today that might be able to help on this and a few railway models enquiries people might have
  19. One slightly messy coat of black paint done on the cab and chassis.. Need to get some gloss paint to do a better second coat, add back in the lights with silver and get some broken wheel decals for the cab doors.. But happy with it so far, nice little lunchtime project..
  20. Dave, drop me a PM.. might be able to help with the location/customs side of things
  21. Still a bit pricey as it is missing the plastic insert though.. The super train don’t seem to get as much as IE ones
  22. Page 24 of rails through Tipperary shows a scene at Nenagh station in 1974 including two AEC trucks in CIE livery.. Atlas Editions produced a similar truck in Eddie stobart livery, and I picked one up for £7 on hattons a few weeks back.. https://www.hattons.co.uk/1292671/atlas_editions_4649104_po67_aec_ergomatic_6_wheel_tipper_eddie_stobart_pre_owned_very_good_box/stockdetail A few spare minutes allowed me a chance to open it up and have a look.. Once the awkward triangular screws securing it to the plastic base were removed, it was actually very easily to take apart.. And the glazing, tyres and cab interior are all removable meaning no need for much masking while repainting.. Few pics of the disassembled model after painting the wheel hubs silver(were red).. Does anyone know any more about CIEs AEC trucks, or have any pictures of them, trying to figure out whether to paint the cab in matt or gloss black paint?
  23. Sorry Denis, wasn't DJ for once but this one is gone.. Sold it to a guy from Connemara to narrow it down a bit for you!
  24. The chippy looks well Noel, is it the airfix kit with after market decals?
  25. And a herd of Irish inbound to replace them?
