  1. Found a pic, will ask if I can share it on here.. Looks like the 071 coupled up to the DVT to haul it back into Conolly, and would imagine it didn't stop anywhere en-route so would imagine they used the DVT for door controls
  2. Not sure if it is the time you were thinking of, but your comment seems to have jogged a memory so I checked over WhatsApp’s.. 11th November 2021, DD set failed at clongriffin quite late so must have been the 20:50 ex Connolly.. 071 on IWT duties in NW was borrowed to go and recover the set with passengers on board back to Connolly
  3. My pics, passing Cabra a few minutes later. 084 looked like @JasonBor @murphaphhad a go at weathering it!
  4. Not strictly an 071, but there was an Enterprise set recovered by a 111(think it was 8113) from Lisburn back to Belfast earlier this year or last year. Would imagine this was done as there wasn't a spare 201 in Belfast at the time.
  5. Nope, the stored locos are 201-205 and 210-214 all in orange with full yellow ends, 224 in intercity and 230 in enterprise
  6. There is a couple of their bigger brothers on the way to the coast guard over here in the coming months.. Although I think I will miss the S-92s, even if they do occasionally wake the baby heading south after taking off from the airport.. My sleep will be a bit better with the new AWs out of Weston
  7. Both are 8-645 engines, so would imagine it’s the same sound file used for both.. However some of the lighting functions may be different to suit the different locos, I don’t have either so don’t have a function card and I don’t think these are published on line anywhere, maybe someone on here can take a pic of them for you
  8. Agreed http://eiretrains.com/Photo_Gallery/Railway Stations S/Sligo Quay/IrishRailwayStations.html#SligoQuay_20040708_006_CC_JA.jpg
  9. Yep looks like an AW139 alright, bit of an ironic reg for a rescue aircraft based in that part of the world…. The Dapol ECS boxes are good if you can get hands on, they date from before the crappy printing but must be about 8 years since they were released
  10. Hijacking your own thread, what kind of chopper was it? To keep things on course, here’s a nice new Blue CAI unit with ECS branding.. Blue CAI units seem to have started appearing on the XPO liner also, likely on lease to Samskip
  11. That roof(and the shed) is cracking.. The only input I have is that the slope looks a little steep, and the supports a touch on the long side.. I’m guessing you have done this for clearance reasons, but would it look better with slightly shorter supports and attached higher up on the shed wall(maybe at roof level)
  12. Can I point you in the direction of this thread, where @BosKonaydid conduct a survey.. The survey suggested about 45% would be interested in 21mm, however if you read the comments the general consensus is that most like the idea in theory but the large investment already made by a lot of modellers in OO models from Murphy’s, Bachmann, Dapol and others that weren’t readily convertible to 21mm would make such a change prohibitive.. Furthermore the lack of standardisation with a larger market(the other ones with 5ft 3in being less than ideal)like the U.K., meant less RTR stock could be easily resprayed to Irish prototypes(think Hornby jinty)

You never fail to provide weird and quirky situations for us Dave! A new one for me, I wonder if they were applied in Heathrow(outside the EU) to be allowed into Spain.. Must check the tracking on your order out of curiosity but at least they got to you..
  14. Hi John, as @murphaphhelpfully said, best course is to contact our support team with your order number. For orders with products from multiple lines, our system will only fulfil the order once all the items are in stock and we have to manually intervene to split the orders upon receiving a request from the customer Regards Andrew
  15. It was loaded in Foynes and worked to Limerick either as a block train or attached to the empty Barytes heading back to Silvermines.. From Limerick it went forward in the Liner network to Mullingar and Longford.. It was for agricultural use, being used to manufacture animal feed in the mills in Edgeworthstown and Granard I think
  16. I might have a spare MM1508(in IE/IR) livery, is that one of the ones you are looking for?
  17. Hornby Freightliner wagons can be kit bashed into 62ft 9in timber wagons by fitting ends and stanchions as pictured.. With floors only they could also pass for 62ft 9 flat wagons in PWd service. Ignore the little hand and Lego, trying to keep a toddler occupied!

Revenue don’t physically have the parcel, it’s just takes An post a few days to register the payment, file the customs entry and release the parcel for delivery
  19. I already have a 20ft essentially, have added two book shelves in the last few weeks, the boxes of books went onto the shelves, and then the boxes got filled with lovely Mk2 packs! That reminds me, I need to call to Woodies to get some more boxes for my CIE/IE mk2s!
  20. I am far from an impartial observer, but purely from my viewpoint as an aspiring modeller/collector of Irish Railway models, it is a sign of the rude health of the hobby that we have not 3 separate arrivals from two different companies in one week. That is on top of five arrivals of Irish models so far this year from IRM(Mk2s, bulleid flats and bulleid opens) and MM(MK2ds and 141/181s). We have come along way since when I started buying Irish models back in 2009, or even since IRM's first product launch back in 2018. In fact, space to store all these new arrivals is now my biggest problem rather than the scarcity or cost of what is available. I have found my self having to actually be strategic in what I do or don't buy instead of just buying everything Irish!

It probably tallies with what An post said to you, rather than being contradictory. The 0 value on his entry may have been the missing information on the electronic customs entry that An post were referring to. It was the only thing that I spotted that was wrong on the entry you posted.. Not sure about the 5 for 4 offer, maybe he hasn't shipped any to Ireland since An Post started insisting on correct electronic entries for overseas orders, which was about 18 or 24 months ago now if I recall..
  22. I have a feeling there might be a plentiful supply of Hornby class 60s looking for new homes soon

That has been An Post's standard approach for a good while now, they put the onus on their overseas Postal partner to get the info correct and they won't deviate from it no matter what you tell them. It is massively frustrating being caught in the middle and seeing your package bounce back and forward across the Irish sea, but it is understandable in a way as otherwise they would be overwhelmed by a wave of mis-declared imports that would be very labour intensive to fix and clear.

I was about to reply and say the entry itself looks mostly fine except for the 0 value.. But the electronic info behind it is what really matters as An Post insist on a correct electronic entry since Brexit
