  1. Well for what its worth my latest Donegal layout,(the fifth in the trilogy)is Brucklees with a grand total of two points. Andy.
  2. Just a thought, what value do you add to something by taxing it? Andy.
  3. They don't have to go to germany for a Class 52,the Nene Valley has one.Ironically it appeared in a series on British technology in WW11,with two British scientists on their way to the states with a Magnatron valve catching a train with it at the head.Classic ! 600 odd operational locos in the UK and they plump for the most inappropriate.Andy.
  4. One of the finest arguments i've for 21mm gauge was the photo in the Modeller of the 00 Works UG with the wheels showing behind the splashers.Andy.
  5. Coach bogies are no problem just use MJT coach bogies easily built to 21mm gauge, and use the existing sideframes as overlays.Andy.
  6. Bogie for Phoenix is no problem the Halling chassis is spot on ,both my Phoenix s use them(yes i do have both versions)it runs a treat. Andy.
  7. Best not mention the Donegal or Swilly rail or post rail ? Andy.

  9. I've done four of the DNGR coaches which were in the last New Irish Lines as well as a couple the GN bogies and very useful they are too(Could do with some pre war bogie stock though.Andy.
  10. It was always interesting to see the variations of Blue on 08 shunters coming into Swindon and leaving, pick a shade of blue!.ANdy.
  11. From personal experience most underframes end up a browny grey black from muck and brakedust.Andy.
  12. Personally i wouldn't bother too much about what colour the roof was painted as it would soon of ended up a grotty grey/black colour.Andy
  13. A point to note is that 552 which appears to have been the regular Courtmacsherry engine has got an enlarged bunker.Andy.
  14. I must say that its one of those reviews that say more about the reviewer than the reviewed.Andy.
  15. Well so far i've built 552,90,100,Argadeen and St Molaga for Courtmacsherry and the pile of bits for Slaney is growing. The only loco which can properly run on both layouts is the C Class even though its miles too modern.i must admit 802 does look a bit odd there when shes being run in.Andy.
  16. Valencia harbour is 1935 and Courtmacsherry is early 30s,will they do, all steam apart from the odd appearance of a C Class,Andy.
  17. Quite agree all this modern image is all very well, but for me the interesting time is pre CIE,though not to extent of one mate of mine who avers that the romance of the railways went out with the horse(Fintona excluded).Andy.
  18. I use my Xuron track cuttersthey do a good job and cut rail as well. The Chopper you refer to iassume is the NWSL Chopper which really good for cutting plastic not sure how it would cope with PCB,Andy
  19. The main point is joint needs to be clean,a glassfibre brush is ideal for this.I've never bothered with flux when using cored solder for the last forty odd years, its quick simple and you don't have the issue of cleaning up corrosive flux after Andy.
  20. I just use 188 cored solder,works a treat with a 40w iron in and out quick,works even with whitemetal.Andy
  21. Hudswell Clarke 1311 and 1313 of 1918 both sent to India after closure,Andy.
  22. The other point is i built it so i can repair it,not something you can say about most ready to run today.Andy.
  23. Can i start a list of what i don't want coming out as ready to run as i've already built it,Andy.
  24. It'll be GSW No100 as i've just finished scratchbuilding it,Andy
