  1. A 201 has also reached the magic 120 mark with a Mk IV set. The highest speed ever achieved by an 071 was 116mph, on a test run shortly after delivery.
  2. Welcome aboard! I've seen your layouts at exhibitions over the past few years and I must say I enjoy them a lot. Looking forward to seeing how your Limerick project develops!
  3. Ah, I see. Folks... if possible, it's best to embed video or at least provide a link. Nice find, Killucan!
  4. Probably better off doing so at this stage, Kirley.
  5. Found a good image of an identical one in the UK: http://www.hondawanderer.com/DX74108_Rolvenden_1991.htm A nice-looking machine, alright!
  6. Great photos! The tamper(?) in the bottom picture looks interesting... I wonder if there's any more photos of it out there somewhere?
  7. Payment is winging its way to County Clare as I type this, Des...
  8. Here's my own little Atlas N gauge C630: Will eventually be hit with some BLMA detailing...
  9. Nice one, Des. I'll be in town tomorrow afternoon so I'll mail it off to you then!
  10. And you won't be seen for a month afterwards...
  11. Des, what's the P&P? I'll stick money in the post for one in the morning. Will be ordering more later on...
  12. Heard a story not so long ago that proved the 201s could do those kind of speeds... although I'm not sure they'd last long doing it all the time! An 071 properly prepped wouldn't be too far off, either.
  13. Brilliant stuff, Des! Looking forward to getting some of these.
  14. I actually think it's an attractive design. The DRS livery is one of the nicer ones around, too...
  15. Brilliant stuff... longtime fan of Patridge/Coogan. Also a huge fan of Chris Morris' work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IV7AZfllTGs
  16. Those tickets were like gold dust, unfortunately
  17. There is another DIY grassmaster design that is essentially identical to the one Noch makes, and can be made for a fraction of the price. I can't find the link to the instructions for building it, but it's the same one Everard Junction uses:
  18. A huge layout, especially when you consider it's O gauge! (I should be so lucky...)
  19. There was a deadman's system on the loco, but it was isolated because the loco brake was applied. The reason the loco kept on going was because it was at full throttle... which, if the dynamic brake had been correctly applied, would've contributed to stopping the train.
  20. Mod note: I've merged three separate threads on the Fry Model Railway into this one so that nobody misses anything. Please post all updates, etc. here.
  21. Saw it last night... good film alright. Here's some info on the incident it was based on: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CSX_8888_incident
  22. Where and when is it supposed to have happened?
  23. Jaysus, that was quick... (She said)
