  1. Couriers will deliver them. Its only the post office that now cant carry paint/chemicals
  2. Peco are far too late to the party. The only advantage they have is availabilty. The rest of your arguements dont work with me so Ill simply ignore them, like most of your posts
  3. Thats just a polite way of saying 'Thank You for your suggestion'. All the UK liveries will come first as they will sell more. Ireland is still a niche market and on the edge of their radar Will wait until I have seen one, despite all of the CAD engineering available today, models still get through the design stage with things wrong
  4. Judging by that reply its what you have heard, read or have seen. Its not actual experience that you have of any of the above track manufacturers. Looks like you have just trawled a few forums and copied and pasted what you have read about what someone else has said. So no real opinions brought to the discussion, just recycled material. Rumours mean very little. Wait until actual announcements are made Ive worked with the C+L track and it is very good, along with Marcway points. Its been available for a long time. At least now its slightly more readily available than it was before
  5. There has been proper scale track available for quite some time http://www.finescale.org.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=346_375_383 and points http://www.marcway.net/point.php. Just now a mainstream manufacturer makes the track - but not the points. They are only 40 years too late Personally, I think this committment is down to the fact that almost all modern stock comes with finer-scale wheels (compared to pizza-cutter wheels that demanded code 100).
  6. Indeed, all too easy to jump to conclusions in these times
  7. Where has that been said? If Oxford have enough interest they will produce them in the 4 Irish liveries (CIE/IR/IE/Executive). But Id say given the huge number of UK liveries there could be a bit of a wait
  8. This post is both puzzling and amusing. You are all for raising the standards in model railways and now are here suggesting a backward step is taken, back to the standards of the 1970's and before. Instead of speculating about it - do it. If it pleases you, mission accomplished
  9. Well you seemed very happy to buy the similar quality and similarly priced IFM coaches and regard them highly. So these should suit your own personal needs precisely. Complete with their wooden chassis and dodgy shades of orange. They are not to be considered RTR, just pre assembled kits.....
  10. The centre motorcoach on the BR Class 442 Wessex units had a central door layout identical to the Mk3 EGV prior to their rebuilding. Development work to the structure of the BR Mk3 coach undertaken for IE, specifically the floor being able to take greater weights (to permit a generator to be installed) and power operated plug doors, provided the key to the evolution of the Mk3 design that became the class 442 EMU.

    Scale HO.

    Ah tanx bud xx

    Scale HO.

To really throw things into the mix, HO gauge trains on EM gauge track is 5'3 in 1/87 HO scale - same as 21mm track in OO gauge
  13. More like manufacturer trying to clear their stock
  14. Ive played with a sound fitted one, well worth the money. The bar has been set exceptionally high with this model in terms of everything - promotion, packaging the lot. None of this 'coming in 2017, deposits welcome' promotion, just Bang, here it is, would you like to purchase and bring it home today? Complete in its tin box with a clear plastic display stand like what you get with 1/43 diecast model cars. The amount of little details and options fitted to it is unreal, never mind its smooth running, lighting or the 20+ different DCC sounds or their quality. its the 1st time Ive been genuine impressed with factory DCC sound as those who know me personally will easily say Im most of the time a detractor of DCC sound as it just does not have the presence that it should. Other things like the cab interior lights dimming in and out along with grilles on the underside of the underframe that you would never normally see. Only scratching the surface here This is not just a new model or manufacturer appearing - this is a gamechanger. Its almost not worth comparing with other Benchmark OO Gauge British locos like the Bachmann Prototype Deltic, Heljan Hymek/Lion or the Hornby Class 60 - its on its own level above everything else http://sulzertype2.co.uk
  15. What makes you come out with such a statement. Im very curious to know what has influenced you to say this as are a few fellow modellers. Your personal expectations and views may differ to those of others
  16. Purely as people will buy them......economics The Bachmann model was originally made by Liliput
  17. Nonsense - They did run alone, both with MK3 pushpull stock and on freights - even nose 1st on the Barrack St line, see here http://eiretrains.com/Photo_Gallery/Railway%20Stations%20B/Barrack%20Street/IrishRailwayStations.html#
  18. Derek is the North Down MRS show manager, different club
  19. Your clearly not satisfied if you want more.......
  20. Its a good idea, but it would not sell. When CIE 071's and Mk2's are still easily available in separate form these would sit on the shelf
  21. The same pair that became the 1st 121's to visit Derry in 1996
  22. Nice smooth continental mechanism, was acquired cheaply though which helped
  23. Trains are for playing with this includes converting and weathering them
  24. Its been done........consider a Brawa V100 too
  25. Keep the audience happy - 100%. Im sure when The Eagles go on tour they are sick to death of playing 'Hotel California', but its what lots of people have paid them to do, so they do it
