Hi All.

Couldn't see a 1:43 vehicle thread so thought I'd start one.

I'm sure I'm not the only one with some 1:43 vehicles.

My interest is very specific so I only have a handful, and shall get the ball rolling with a DISM 1:43 Starlet. These usually go for €100 to €250 online but I got this one for €40 as the plinth was broken, the front bumper is damaged and the rear spoiler is missing.

I have another one given to me by an ex, but that's for another day.

IXO MOC177 EG8 / EH9 Honda Civic saloon.

These have a special place in my heart, as do the EP71 Turbos, because I've been driving both for over twenty years, now...

Anything newer than the year 2000 is the Devil, with the odd exception.

Again, these tend to go for a lot, usually, but I picked this one up cheaply enough via eBay, Spanish guy living in Germany, happy days!

When Ford supplied Regan's iconic Consul for use in The Sweeney, there was an understanding that Transits would be the only Ford vehicles that were used by villains.

So all of those sole traders in their Transits are just villains!

Corgi Mk3 Ford Transit that somehow survived my childhood largely intact.

That's a blast from the past, Dave. I had a lump of that Corgi stuff back in the day.

My two Ford Continentals, were without doubt, my favourites of the lot. One was a tanker carrying the Guinness colours, the other a flatbed trailer with two Michelen containers. Great memories.

Hi-Story HS315GR Toyota Starlet GT Turbo, the 1989 EP82 variant, pre-headlamp masks and with the full length light strip across the boot.

These cars looked black in real life but had a very faint green flip / tint, which Hi-Story have managed to replicate.

Have you ever seen the Diecast Dude YouTube channel? Think he's from the Netherlands and he visits shops which specialise in model road vehicles, certainly worth a watch. Mind, he himself is into the small Matchbox size models but he does a tour of the whole store, I find his videos very interesting and entertaining.

The second of the three Hi-Story Starlet GT Turbos, this time the white one; HS315-WH.

Have to confess that I don't remember ever seeing a white one. EP71 Turbos and Glanza Turbos, sure, but just can't place one of these.

Again, lovely detail. They go for silly money online but every now and then one comes along at a fair price.

Cheap enough 1/43 scale trucks!

Edicola brand, made in Bangladesh for a Spanish company.

I'd say that they're somewhere between toy and model. Nice detail, mainly plastic construction with a diecast cab.

The glazing is very very thick and there are fingerprints on the inside of the glazing. The cab is modelled inside but my camera can't focus through the glazing.

Some of the tyres melted a bit in transit, and one of the wing mirrors snapped off, along with the fuel tank, so they had to be glued back on.

Decal work on the trailer is not perfect, but I expect too much when it comes to decals - straight lines etc.

There are some casting marks visible on some parts, and the trailer could do with extendable legs.

Packaging is sufficient. Cardboard backing, transparent plastic cradle and a transparent bubble cover.

Have only opened one of them, G1N0E006, the Dodge, but for €20 each I'm very happy.

If I can trick somebody into coming down here for a weathering holiday, I'm sure they could make this look excellent.

Finally, an artic in 1:43!

IXO Models IXOTR124 Mercedes Actros MP4 with a flatbed butchered from that Edicola brand Pascual trailer that I posted about previously.

Stupid triangular screws are heart-breakers.

Container is only 1/48, not 1/43, but it's the best I can do for the moment.

Poor light, sorry, but it's late at night.

Still, @JasonB and @MOGUL should like this one, even if the cab is a bit new.

Looks the job, the container is a highcube, and the extra height does it favours it making it look in scale.. just needs some rust on the corner castings and the tractor unit needs a smear of grease on the 5th wheel and a few breakfast roll wrappers in the cab window!

Breakfast rolls, now there's a blast from the past, can't beat sausages!

Yeah, the scale difference is more apparent with the 2,6m boxes, specially with the newer, taller cab, so I chose a 2,9m for the photo.

The length isn't too noticeable, 12,2m is about 28cm in 1/43 and about 25cm in 1/48.

It'll only become a problem when IRM release their 42' flats in O Gauge... I'll have to wait for 47' Flats to hide the 3cm difference in the gap!
