Gabhal Luimnigh Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 (edited) This is my second attempt at my first layout, the original one had to be dismantled and moved so I now have a nice size room approx 4m x 2.5, I just finished the track beds, I used a grey yoga mat 3mm thick and it works fine, next job is wiring the track sections, another job I'm looking forward to. DJ Dangerous Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 Went for the R4 myself. Wrong colour, I'd like a blue and a dark red, but better than nothing. 1 Quote

Nope not a fan, it is a mix of memories for me, my dad worked on the railway and his name was Joe, I spent my childhood holidays in a small village with my grandmother and it was called Donohill, so a very unimaginative mix of the two 1 Quote

derek Posted July 9, 2023 Posted July 9, 2023 Yes, I remember you mentioning him in a post you called "nostalgia". Had his certificate and all, as a signalman. I,d say you are not a bit proud of him 1 Quote
Gabhal Luimnigh Posted September 16, 2023 Author Posted September 16, 2023 Time to get stuck in again now that winter is on the horizon, started drilling for the droppers for the bus wire Next will be lots of soldering and getting the locos running before finishing the scenics. 1 Quote
Gabhal Luimnigh Posted September 16, 2023 Author Posted September 16, 2023 I'm also going to change the name of the layout, Joehill is too Anglo for my stock so I thought I would use the way a lot of our towns and villages are named, so cnoc seosamh might be interpreted as Knockseo, so I will call it Knockseo Junction. 3 Quote
