Those replies are really enlightening lads. Thanks😆

In reality, all WTTs are confidential to this day. Since many train movements are not public passenger trains, it was always considered unhelpful to allow public access to such things. The public issues list passenger services only, not goods or light engine movements, or empty stock. At various times in the past, security was deemed to be another reason to keep train movements other than passenger-carrying ones as confidential.

The red confidential branding seems to have been a 1960s/early 1970s thing, though the later WTTs have an equivalent statement that is perhaps less obvious.
For what it’s worth, these are the ones I have (and arguably should not have, if they are confidential!):

- CIE summer 1961

- CIE summer 1967

- CIE winter 1968

- CIE summer 1973

- CIE winter 1975

- CIE summer 1978

- CIE Dublin Suburban summer 1983

- CIE winter 1985

- CIE winter 1986

- IR summer 1990

- NIR summer 1976

Happy to scan specific bits for others.

Lads,

Are these PUBLIC/WTT's for sale ?

Mine aren't for sale, I use them for reference. Others can be found on eBay quite often, both public and WTT.

Very nice collection indeed. I remember that 1967 diagrammatic one coming out. Even then I thought it was weird. Some of what you have are very rare beasts indeed, especially the Macroom one and the Parknasilla booklet.

Yes it is EXTREMLY weird. Especially around the Dublin area, and the fact they needed an entirely different one for Sunday

Differently not my own unfortunately. Infact if anything I’m looking to expand same as yourself! (CBSCR and GSR particularly) If you’re willing to pay steep eBay prices. You can get public ones for slightly cheaper via abe books usually

my 3 hand lamps. I find the modern version fascinating, a completely arbitrary battery and an expectation date! Where as the old bardic (with modifications) works perfect 40 odd years later. I have no idea how to make a burner work on the CIE hand lamps so I just threw a candle in there to show the principe
