If you have to run the DR double deckers, I'll loan you my HO model of 18.201 which actually did haul those coaches. Or an S3/6 would look good - can loan you that too - or even the S2/5 Atlantic. I'll come round ....... 2

The general design was modernised to some extent towards the end of the DDR era and, after reunification, looked particularly good when refurbished in the new Deutsche Bahn liveries. I've picked up a fair few in DB Regio colours, and also have 18.201 to haul them. They would work equally well behind either the DR 65.10 or DB 65 suburban 2-8-4Ts. Not sure about using the S3/6. It's a touch too old for that type of thing. Doppelstock is much more suited to the post-war Neubauloks and Rekoloks.

leslie10646 Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Much better! 18.201 really is the Biz! You will knw that it was built, in part with the frames off a 61 Class tank? Actually 61.002. Now, I can loan you 61.001 with the four coach Henschel Wegmann train - perfect for the Larne Boat train ....... 1

It's a hybrid of two different engines, - frames and wheels of 61.002 - rear frames, trailing truck and outside cylinders of 45.024 topped by a Reko 39E boiler. I think the tender came from a Br44. 1
leslie10646 Posted April 29 Posted April 29 Yes, Darius - keep to the Day Job! You're not @Old Blarney or I who run whatever we like. I'm planning a "Southern day on Portadown Jct! Nothing wrong with NIR Disease-als! 1
Darius43 Posted April 30 Author Posted April 30 House transplant… A model of the family home in Belfast that I built in the early 1980s. Now to be restored and relocated to Whiterock, minus the front and back gardens that are too far gone. Cheers Darius 11 2
