heirflick Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 this little baby arrived today...CIE TPO from Irish Freight Models... i have to say she looks well in green, so heres a question - what coaches did she most frequently run with and what motive power would have been used? Quote
Garfield Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) Short answer: Anything and everything loco-wise and coach-wise that was on the books back in the late '50s/early '60s! Looks like a 3D-printed body, is that right? Edited March 6, 2014 by Garfield Quote

DERAILED Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 €75 !!!! You could have brought the real thing for that price. The foreman at CIE's Mullingar Scrapyard had a grounded one for an office right up until closure - wonder what happened to it? Quote
Broithe Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 It needs a crowd of lads in khaki dust-coats sprinting from it - towards Lambe's at Ballybrophy.... Quote

BosKonay Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 A dull yellowish light inside and a waft of fag smoke from the half opened window and it would look thebusiness :) Quote
Broithe Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 i'll volunteer my services for such a mission if you will! Lambe's is no more - great memories of standing in there in the pitch black whilst the Guards gave some old biddy a lift to the train just after 'closing' time... ..beeping as they came over the bridge, so that they wouldn't be seen to have seen the place still open at that time.. jhb171achill Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Four of those vehicles were converted to passenger brake vans about 1969. One was numbered 2177, I seem to recall. So use on a non-mail passenger train is legit for a black'n'tan one 1969-73 or so. Quote
trainboy Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I'm interested in buying one of the IFM cie luggage vans. Kinda expensive... wondering if anyone here has purchased the item and any review is appreciated. Thanks, Brendan Quote
