It features a 5.2 mtr fiddle yard under the layout with 3 cameras to monitor the yard. All track laying and scenery done by me. Quote

BosKonay Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Stunning work Dave - what's your secret on the trackwork? The weathering / rusting effect is bang on! Quote

Dave Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 Stunning work Dave - what's your secret on the trackwork? The weathering / rusting effect is bang on! Weathering the track with an airbrush would have been too expensive due to the ammount of track. So I went to a motor factors that mix aerosols for car paint and got them to match the colour in a matt finish. Once the track was all fitted and tested I sprayed it wiping the tops of the rails as I went. Its a quick and easy method and cheap too. Quote

Dave Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 Absolute genius Was it a specific RAL colour? No, I went with a colour the customer picked. I did pick up some camouflage spray paint cheap the colour was very close. RAL 8027 Quote
WRENNEIRE Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Bought a couple of tins of camo paint myself, but I can never seem to find it. Looked everywhere....... Quote
