Just thought I show show everyone what I have been working on lately, The layout is still not finished, It features a terminus station in a town scene heading out to the country and on to the beach.

It features a 5.2 mtr fiddle yard under the layout with 3 cameras to monitor the yard.

All track laying and scenery done by me.

Lovin it Dave, well done. The track weathering in particular is very effective. I do like the beach bit too, very nice indeed. R

I like the wall clock also, any chance you could get me a pic next time your over?

Hi Dave

the fold-away fittings for the mimic panel are interesting. Can I ask what are the called and where did you get them?

Awesome work Dave.

I couldnt imagine how much time has gone into putting that all together. A very lucky customer indeed. The control panel and monitors look very cool. Top stuff:cool:

Hi Dave

That's just brilliant, you have done an amazing job on this layout and it's not even yours. I hope the client really appreciates what you have done here, setting up the beginnings of a really fine layout. Hours of fun ahead.

Stunning work Dave - what's your secret on the trackwork? The weathering / rusting effect is bang on!

Weathering the track with an airbrush would have been too expensive due to the ammount of track. So I went to a motor factors that mix aerosols for car paint and got them to match the colour in a matt finish. Once the track was all fitted and tested I sprayed it wiping the tops of the rails as I went.

Its a quick and easy method and cheap too.

Absolute genius :) Was it a specific RAL colour?

No, I went with a colour the customer picked. I did pick up some camouflage spray paint cheap the colour was very close. RAL 8027
