4003 has returned to traffic following overhaul and repainting. It is also the first vehicle to carry the new Iarnrod Eireann Irish Rail logo.

I photographed it at Rosskelton earlier today on the 1200 to Cork and later that evening at Heuston prior to departure at 1900 for Cork. The pictures may be viewed at:

223 passes Rosskelton with the 1200 Heuston - Cork during a brief sunny interlude on Wednesday 14th February 2013.

Evening folks,

Some pictures taken from Portlaoise this evening featuring Intercity services from Cork and to Limerick, plus the Portlaoise Commuters. The final picture is of the Full Moon rising over Co. Laois tonight.

Evening all,

A busy evening in Dublin tonight but I still managed to grab two photos at Busaras of 4008 and Heuston of 22005 and 22018.

No problem Hidden Agenda.

Evening folks,

It's turning into busy week so far. Today was no different.

The Container Pocket Wagons (CPW's) have been receiving maintenance at Limerick Wagon Works in preparation for the DFDS Liner returning to the railway. The train is planned to operate twice a week each way using the CPW's thus taking them over new ground between Cherryville Jct. and Waterford. The service is scheduled to start in the first week of March. In advance of this the wagons were transferred as the 0910 Limerick - Ballina via Portarlington on Wednesday 27th February 2013. 075 provided the traction and the train is pictured passing Geashill, Co. Offally.

Neil, great pics and thanks info -thanks! must get the camera ready for some shooting at cherryville :)

No problem!!

I seem to be getting fond of the idea of going from A to B, via C. This morning I needed to be in Dublin and with some time to kill after the early morning duties I decided to get the 0735 Heuston - Galway (22048) to Tullamore and then wait the 17 minutes for the 0730 Galway - Heuston (22034), which had a sizeable amount of custom boarding in Tullamore.
