Hi Guys we have added this section so you can post a heads up if you know of or see any unusual loco/stock or stock movements on the network both North and South. We hope to do this from week to week.

For example 8208 hauling the Ballina Liner today and 082 heading to Belfast. So if you are in the know, or just happen to see something post it up in this section and hopefully someone else will maybe get to see it or get a photo somewhere else along the route.

So 082 was the loco I saw today with the 2 Enterprise Mk3 EGVs passing through Clongriffin just after 9 this morning. I was too far away to get the number at the time.

Great idea Anthony,

Let me get the train rolling

071 class:

072 worked the 11:05 Ballina-Northwall IWT liner this morning,

081 worked the Waterford-Westport empty timber train arriving in Westport at 17:40 this evening,

201 class:

The working of the year so far for me anyway when

8208 worked the 08:15 Ballina-Northwall IWT liner 17/18 LX wagons were loaded,

It had replaced 088 which had failed near Sallins yesterday morning, the liner eventually arriving into Ballina freight yard at 16:40-photos over the next few days,

222 worked the Northwall-Ballina IWT CPW liner today, arriving in Ballina freight yard at 14:35.

086 passed north through Clongriffin with 12 empties for tara at 14:00.

082 or 076 I think, again too far for me to see, followed at 14:05 with 7 spoil and 2 flat track wagons. One loaded and one empty. For the works in Drogheda station at the bay platform.

hello everyone, maybe should continue this topic? for example: today there was 220 with morning IWT and 081 with evening, 072 left with a train with rails, and there were also 079 and 073 with taras, by the way, a few weeks ago 071 and 073 worked simultaneously for taras, it looked great!

very strange, but today there isn't IWT on north wall

Not strange at all, the current schedule has no train in NW from Saturday morning till Monday afternoon.. The weekend sees both sets of flat wagons and normally a timber stabled in Ballina..

This coming Monday is an exception, as due to engineering work in Tullamore the down train will run on Monday instead of Saturday.. Probably the first down train on a Monday in about 9months

076 works todays down liner, this one is IWT3499, with the up train today and tomorrow's down train being IWT3500.. Work commitments mean I won't get out to see that one but close enough!

Will have another BELL box on the train.. Ex Ballina this week, likely on Thursday

The BELL was replaced by another unit, a generic 30ft Schmidt Unit :(

hello guys, does anyone know what is the second locomotive running on iwt besides 085? must be 073, but it could go to timber/xpo

manifest ex Ballina today had it as 074.. Must have been a loco swap in Ballina, with 073 most likely on XPOs..

hello, today was a rather busy day at north wall, in the morning there was 074 on iwt, and also 231 left for inchcore, then a ballast train arrived from 072 or 071, I don’t know for sure, but both locomotives are in the north wall, then a tara with 084 arrived, but the locomotive also left most likely to inchcore, then 088 arrived with the second tara. with the evening iwt was 085. 071 and full tara are in the north wall, so I think that maybe 071 will replace 084, but this is just my guess, if someone knows for sure, then correct me.

By the way, maybe someone knows on what days there will be engineering trains to the north and maybe an approximate time? on Connolly it is written about engineering work, also the ballast train on the north wall will also probably go north, it would be grand to shot a couple of engineering trains, thanks
