Junctionmad Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 As an aside , I would urge people to load the pics directly in to this website rather then linking to third party image stores. ( consistent with copyright etc ) SO many pics are lost on older websites because the image store is now longer accessible ( as any perusal of the yuku version etc will demonstrate ) Quote

Kirley Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I have been using Dropbox to load pictures onto this Site but today I can't get the 'Copy Public Link' to work. Unable to find an answer in their Help pages, any Computer boffins out there with an answer? Quote

popeye Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 It's not that easy, or straight forward. Have a look at the FAQ at the top of the page it might help. Quote
16miller Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 It's not easy or straightforward? What sort of forum is this? Quote
GNRi1959 Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 (edited) It's not easy or straightforward? What sort of forum is this? 1. Select Insert Image 2. Select file 'From Computer' 3. Go to the folder where your file is 4. When you have selected it you select Choose and Upload it 5. Your file should appear AFTER you have POSTED! 6. Easy Edited September 29, 2017 by TonyMcGartland Quote
BosKonay Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Nice one Tony - it's very easy to post, and if the image is already online, you can paste in the URL in step 2 above Quote
16miller Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Tried that, It won't let me. Hence my posting that I still have trouble. Quote
Broithe Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 I find that a pasted URL is sometimes rejected, but just typing the image tags myself usually gets around it. Quote

Noel Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Hi 16miller Sometimes an image JPG can be too large in terms of file size to upload on some sites. It's a good idea to always reduce the size of an image that came directly off a camera or smartphone. Suggest reducing JPG image to 1024 pixals wide before attaching here or uploading to a photo hosting site. This has the added benefits of much faster upload, as well as faster display time. A photo on a camera or smartphone can be anything between 3mb and 10mb file size, but if reduced to 1024px wide will only be about 200k in file size. Retaining the original image size is of no benefit as websites generally only show about 1024 pixals wide on a screen. Noel Quote
