The evening shift crew are busy servicing and fuelling locomotives at the MPD, From the left we have spare locomotives-001,161+132,then 027,056 and 007 in the shed,084 and 123+122 outside the new fuelling point which has recently been fitted with LED lighting. 11 1

NIR 208 works a Belfast-Dublin Connolly service, 017 works a Sligo-Dublin Connolly service 152+132 works the Northwall-Sligo liner/cement 2751 works a Dublin Connolly-Longford service. 6

The sound of those yokes has never been heard by the majority of people, but I was one of the lucky ones.... and despite this, IRM have managed to capture it very accurately indeed. I remember the first time I heard it - it was 102, and she was only days in traffic. Compared to a usual A class (both Crossley and then-new GM variant), and endless AEC and BUT railcars at the time, or a 121 / 141 / 181 it was just so different. Well done to whoever created that sound again! 2 1 1
