Can anyone confirm if the coaches are the same shade of tan as on 086 SA or the same shade of orange as the previous batches of IE Mk2s? Also, not sure if it's just the photos but is the bottom of the black area not a straight line? Seriously hoping that they are tan and not orange as there is a vast difference between CIE tan and IE orange shades, even if every coach was a slightly different shade in real life.

Are the yellow French style tail lamps available in OO scale?

You misread my post, Blaine. I am saying people should be able to post any opinion, positive or negative. It is excellent that MM has brought Irish specific models to the scene. However, they are not without their faults. The latest batch of NIR 201s have numbers in the wrong places and in incorrect font. A previous 201 had an incorrect shape yellow front, not to mention the EGV with only hinges on one side and the fact that the sides warp inwards on some of them. So should we not be able to highlight faults such as the ones that I have listed on the forum?

It's everyone's choice at the end of the day if they want to purchase or not purchase. However, I think it's bang out of order to basically be telling people on a discussion forum to keep their mouths shut if they don't have good things to say or aren't frothing at the mouth about the new releases. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Would have thought IR intercity version would have been a more popular choice of livery to release, considering you can still buy CIE blank/tan Cravens and 141/181's from dealers years after they were first released.

Think you will find that the last wagon is covered in dirt. They managed to go with ease from white to brown between repaints.

It is an interesting proposal, but one I think that would only work initially on the likes of a freight wagon such as the cement bubble, where people are likely to buy more than one. I could be wrong but I am quessing that there is less design and drawing on a wagon than on a locomotive, so the initial setup costs should be somewhat lower. I do feel that if an initial project worked out successfully, that you would get more people willing to put cash upfront for subsequent projects. I think such a proposal would need to be fronted by one of the Irish model shops, Murphy Models or some other manufacturer to enable modellers to have confidence in it being brought to a successful completion, pending sufficient cash being raised to allow the project to advance.

Don't think Dream Box containers ever ran on Irish liners. In a nutshell, the ECS containers would be Ok for IE era, Eucon would be OK for both IR and IE era. Neither ECS or Eucon ran in CIE days as far as I am aware.

Anyone know what the surprise model release was from Des/Studio Scale Models?

Excellent work. Hopefully Des from Studio Scale Models or someone else will bring out a full kit in the future. The cement bubble is such an iconic Irish wagon.

Murphy Models still haven't released the IR livery versions yet, so you could probably assume that they would be the next releases after the CIE versions due shortly. The Gen van on ebay was released as part of the IE versions, so I would assume that as this has sold out everywhere that another version, albeit very similar, will appear as part of the IR batch of these coaches. Both the EGV and the Restaurant coaches are the hardest ones to obtain in IE livery at the moment.

Looking to buy the 1981 edition of Locomotives and Rolling Stock of CIE and NIR by Oliver Doyle and Stephen Hirsch if anyone has a spare copy lying around. That's the one with the NIR 111 Class on the cover. Thanks.

Million dollar question for me is will Murphy Models bring out an 001 Class model at any stage? I am purposefully not buying the Silver Fox model in the hope that Murphy Models or some other manufacturer releases a high spec detailed 001 Class model. Silver Fox model is ok, but looks totally out of place alongside Murphy Models locos. There is just no comparison really.
