Glad that charity has somebody switched on doing their listings for them! It’s an English charity - local to me - so doubly impressive that they have got the description sorted, rather than some ‘model train coaches’…..

May also be worth talking to Siobhan Osgood who is doing a PhD at Trinity on….GNRI architecture! http://irishrailwayarchitecture.blogspot.com/?m=1

The first two digits suggest a fitted freight to a Southern Region destination. Can’t find what ‘56’ working was…. -

Bottom 2 are Stranraer, aren’t they? Ernie and I clicked the keys simultaneously I think ! -
Greer to see this progress. So often brass projects remain in flux.

I’m playing the long game. Froze a set and will wait on the market ….given the good news this w/e I think every Irish modeller should eat a scone in honour of Raheny 2022….. -

Looks like the Bridport branch- probably just prior to closure. -
Just received latest e-copy of this quality and well produced mag from John Emerson, who runs Lynx Models. O gauge focus but incredibly useful items of info that mainstream magazines don’t often publish. This edition includes stuff on hornblocks for instance and other modelling bits. Access is by application to lynxmodels@icloud.com - send him an email and you’ll get a copy.

IRM At The Dublin Show 2022 - Just What Will We Announce?
Galteemore replied to Warbonnet's topic in News
In the spirit of the forum, how many of each scone flavour were produced? Could you bulk buy for a discount or preorder? And what flavours will be on offer next year? -
Luck was required as well as skill. On one occasion c 1950 the crew of an SLNC train were prevailed upon to hide a bale of suiting fabric (worth 4 figures in 2022 prices) in the coal bunker before leaving Enniskillen at 7:20 pm. They were spotted doing so, and on arrival at Glenfarne the duly informed Eire customs men walked briskly past the passengers in coach 9 and headed straight for the loco. The crew quickly delved into the bunker and consigned the bale into the firebox. The reaction of the fabric’s owner is not recorded.

Not my era, not my scale, not my thing. But this is wonderful news for all Irish modellers. Well done IRM!- 1 reply

Much debate on Gauge O Guild forum on this . The coaches are ok I think but the locos have sadly not delivered what was promised.

Lovely portrait of Jeep. This may have been the last - or one of the last - steam services from Belfast-Dublin. -
That’s very kind Patrick but if you can use a knife and fork you can do this stuff. Soldering is nowhere near as hard as people think. And a chassis jig is worth the cost - really helps that initial foundation go in.

Thanks @David Holman! The etches are something else as you say. This one is a real piece of history, as I think it might be a really early version……I looked back at your build and the etches are quite different, as these pictures show. Yours are brass but mine are NS. Not only that but the drawing out is very different- look where the rod etches are in each…..I also think the rods have changed slightly, as mine have the joint on the short portion.
