Oh come on! The 201's were gorgeous when delivered. The only flaw in the Galway livery was that it wasn't a continuous black and yellow stripe the full length of the coaches. The upwards angle at the ends looked wierd, but that could have been rectified.

How many Cravens coaches actually had that logo applied to them, and why? Was it a short-lived re-branding idea that never took off?

The new version lacks all of the detail like door handles and hinges, but is lazer cut and has flush glazing. Plus and minus!

How about the mid nineties, after B&I met their maker? Would there still have been full trains of B&I containers awaiting purchase or repainting etc?

Hi all. Has anybody had issues when buying online since the PSD2 norms came into effect? Or are they not yet in effect up in Ireland and the UK? There was an 18 month window for them to come into effect, starting on September 4th 2019, so the deadline for their implementation hasn't actually passed. I'm using a Spanish card, issued by a Spanish bank, and they are usually pretty quick to enforce these changes, here. The issues first appeared late last year but there were workarounds like PayPal, but PayPal payments are now also being declined, presumably as there is no 3DS pop-up. I'm having problems buying from some retailers, both EU and non-EU, yet I can buy from Hattons (as recently as this morning) without issue. I've been on the 'phone to my bank, who assure me that my cards are both fine, as evidenced by my ability to make physical transactions and buy from Hattons online. Yet it's the bank who are declining the payments. Or, is it possible that since I'm not given a chance to authorize the payments via 3DS, they are automatically declined? D'oh!

Plus I'll need a DCC controller!

Yup, @murphaph convinced me to move towards DCC, and to invest in one of these. Lots of learning ahead, and it'll probably be summer before I have time to actually look at doing anything at all, but I'm sure it'll be better in the long run. EDIT: Actually, it'll probably be autumn, as my summer week off will be the first this year, and the family are probably flying down for that!

I have a feeling that Chris's repaints are done by Tony Mirolo, who is pretty good. Hopefully, he'll take care of removing the original markings.

The grey ones are actually repaints, commissioned via Chris. Works out cheaper, faster and easier sourcing 082's and 085's for repainting into grey, rather than sourcing grey ones!

A few more packages received, crowning off what was a very expensive but very successful year! Only missing two 141's for the collection, B188 and 171, so if anybody has either BNIB and wishes to part with them, drop me a line. Again, feeling lucky as Hell with this lot. Container Liners sold out on pre-order, then a few became available through cancellations etc, so my money's on those being the fastest seller.

Chances are that list will be identical to the list of future releases.

Much as I'd kill for a few Mk3 push-pull sets, I suspect that Mk4's might be a better bet, as they've been on the go a while, and probably have a good few years left in them. Same here, a bit freight-heavy, and hungry for IR / IE passenger stock. Yeah, and in ten or twenty years time, what is currently on the rails may actually be legacy stock, the grey 071's being the stuff of legend that people can barely remember. I guess if you were to run a shorter train, not prototypical length, that would solve that problem! Because of the length of the coaches, less units are needed to build up a nice long train to fit within ones desired space.

Steam? Ah would you stop??? It'll be IRM 141 twin packs long before an auld steamer. Twin packs, one loco motorized, one dummy with lights only, ideal Christmas presents for 2022.

Try reducing your intake or varying your diet a little and you may suffer less froth.
