  1. D'oh, missed this thread when posting in the O Gauge speculative thread this morning. These look great, and as per @BosKonay's comment on the Irish connection in the speculative thread, dare I be Oliver Twist and ask if there'll be an Irish version? Or will repainting one of these (rectangular window?) be the best option for the foreseeable future?
  2. Four Mercedes cabs from IXO spanning three decades:
  3. Ta-daaaaaaaa! https://www.accurascale.com/es-eu/collections/7mm-locomotives The Ruston 88DS!
  4. IXO Models TR156.22 1994 Mercedes Benz SK II 1850 in black from Coches de Metal.
  5. You lucky so and so! I saw 22 97301's go on sale the other day but with no postage here I missed out.
  6. Dream layout: 15m x 4m tail-chaser, two levels, OO Gauge and O Gauge. 4 to 6 OO Gauge lines / 3 to 4 O Gauge lines converging and diverging as they loop around. Different elevations. As generic as possible regarding scenery and era to allow maximum flexibility with rolling stock. Failing all that, I'll happily commandeer @warb's Barrow Street instead!
  7. That looks absolutely fabulous, @leslie10646! Just wonderful! Can't wait to have a few of them to hand.
  8. On further digging, Dapol do Class A Tank wagons: https://www.hattons.co.uk/598261/dapol_7f_062_003_14_ton_class_a_anchor_mounted_tank_wagon_benzole_906/stockdetail https://www.hattons.co.uk/598258/dapol_7f_062_001_14_ton_class_a_anchor_mounted_tank_wagon_british_petroleum_1000/stockdetail https://www.hattons.co.uk/598260/dapol_7f_062_002_14_ton_class_a_anchor_mounted_tank_wagon_fina_155/stockdetail https://www.hattons.co.uk/598262/dapol_7f_062_004_14_ton_class_a_anchor_mounted_tank_wagon_national_benzole_855/stockdetail https://www.hattons.co.uk/598263/dapol_7f_062_005_14_ton_class_a_anchor_mounted_tank_wagon_regent_20/stockdetail Hmmmmmmmmmmm...
  9. Just received an email from Hatton's, announcing 35 ton Class A and Class B Tank Wagons from Heljan: https://www.hattons.co.uk/directory/versiondetails/article?id=1109 There are currently fifteen Class B variants listed. I have read here on the forum that many of the Irish tank wagons were ex-UK Class A and B wagons, but the shields / anchor strips running along the sides at the base of these Heljan releases look like the pre-1980's type. I also understand that the longer Class A barrels were more common than these Class B barrels. Several informative posts from @Mayner and other members here, here, here, here, here and here. SSM used to do a detailing kit in OO Gauge which included the shields, but I get the impression that Des has retired, or is at least uncontactable this year. That's a shame, as the shields probably could have been scaled up to O Gauge. How many Class B wagons ran in Ireland?
  10. Absolutely lovely stuff, @Rob! Feel like I repeat myself every time you post but I just love your layout. The roads and footpaths are excellent!
  11. IXO Models TR149.22 and TR100, a 1993 Freightliner FLA and a Mack R-Series, both from Coches de Metal!
  12. Everything about this layout is on the ball. The blue stock, the trackwork, the scenery, the weathering, it all just comes together perfectly.
  13. Did you repaint the arches behind the diesel depot or is it just the lighting?
  14. It's the most-viewed on the forum by quite a stretch!
  15. Love it, TTC, have always wondered about track cleaning on such a large and spectacular layout.
  16. Almost sure that @BosKonay said no when I asked about this, as the bogies and lighting are integrated, but I'm open to correction.
  17. Just catching up on this thread, now. Outstanding work, @Patrick Davey! In particular the two post near the top of this page with the coping stones and the quoins, just wow. That said, the most impressive aspectof this thread is that it hasn't decended into farcical pun-itive jokes, yet.
  18. That's class, pure nostalgia. Is it a Fowler4F? Haven't seen one of those in a few months...
  19. Just to clarify, the black and orange full brake no. 79 is NOT sold out. The TITLE says that it's sold out, but you can still buy it. https://www.hattons.co.uk/1056113/hattons_originals_h4_6fb_1703_6_wheel_full_brake_79_in_cie_black_tan_sold_out_on_pre_order/stockdetail Click "Pre-order" or "Pre-order to trunk" and it IS available.
  20. I wonder if Lima and Hornby both used the same measuring technique and reference points, or different reference points for the same radius! The @WRENNEIRE song:
  21. Go to the first post in the thread, the very first post, click the three dots in the top right corner of that post, click "Edit" and edit the title.
  22. The track level and platform level shots are sublime, TTC! Just out of curiosity, after watching 161 and 132, is there (and was there back then) redundancy built into the rail network? Is there a spare loco on standby, or does launching a rescue mission require cancelling something else? If there is redundancy, where would the spare tend to be lurking?
  23. Some users posted the links to their ex-FotoPic collections here. Hope you find what you are looking for.
  24. Very sad news. My condolences to all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
