  1. The puns are definitely not stale in this thread.
  2. Cheap enough 1/43 scale trucks! Edicola brand, made in Bangladesh for a Spanish company. I'd say that they're somewhere between toy and model. Nice detail, mainly plastic construction with a diecast cab. The glazing is very very thick and there are fingerprints on the inside of the glazing. The cab is modelled inside but my camera can't focus through the glazing. Some of the tyres melted a bit in transit, and one of the wing mirrors snapped off, along with the fuel tank, so they had to be glued back on. Decal work on the trailer is not perfect, but I expect too much when it comes to decals - straight lines etc. There are some casting marks visible on some parts, and the trailer could do with extendable legs. Packaging is sufficient. Cardboard backing, transparent plastic cradle and a transparent bubble cover. Have only opened one of them, G1N0E006, the Dodge, but for €20 each I'm very happy. If I can trick somebody into coming down here for a weathering holiday, I'm sure they could make this look excellent.
  3. From the BBC: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-65793257 Very sad.
  4. What size is the new layout? I had one in the attic when I was younger, 14' x 6', consisting of 8 x baseboards each measuring 4' x 2'.
  5. Upside down to get the photos the right way up?
  6. Outstanding stuff, @Darius43! Those roof vents remind me of something tasty from decades ago. Lucozade tablets, maybe?
  7. I wonder if @connollystn is interested or knows of anybody interested. Nearly sure that @randallator is an American buff, too.
  8. Lovely jailhouse feel to those long bench tables.
  9. In fairness, he did say in one of the (six?) Kingsbridge threads that he was working on something big for Gort, so we'll probably have a savage update of how that's going, soon enough.
  10. Would a screwdriver with a magnetic tip do the job?
  11. And they're the only two readily available 12mm tracks? Over-ballasting would disguise the TT sleepers etc, so for an industrial or yard layout, I guess either would work.
  12. What gauge track does OOn3 run on? 12mm? So HOm or TT track? I saw this thread on these lovely wagons and went digging through the forum to resurrect this one.
  13. You mean to say that YOU are Dr. Frankenmodeller...
  14. You're blue, da ba dee da ba dieeeee... I doubt that planes have to operate in such density, with such frequency, in such close proximity to one another. Not to knock ATC nor pilots, they rock, but it's like apples and oranges.
  15. Flagged it with them late last year or early this year and they said that it was to do with Google Ads or something.
  16. So... Who's up for painting one or two of these green and adding some light green lining???
  17. The only two bad ones that I can think of offhand are the 121 and 201 packaging. 121 packaging was a disaster, and if I recall correctly, wasn't even the packaging that Paddy had agreed upon. Still, that was easily resolved by wedging some cardboard between the cardboard and the foam, just above the loco's bonnet. Snug as a bug in a rug after that. The 201's were ripping through the white plastic and then bouncing around inside the cardboard box. Still, I would much rather have the original packaging than not, but missing packaging wouldn't be a deal breaker for something I really want.
  18. Excellent stuff. The sooner they sell out, the sooner we'll get O Gauge CIE Ballast Hoppers!
  19. The original box and packaging serves three purposes for those running trains. Firstly, it alludes to the authenticity of the model. Secondly, should somebody (as you yourself did) need to pack the trains away for whatever reason, it protects them from damage and dust. Third, should life and circumstances change and selling up becomes a necessity, you have the original packaging to use for transport, and to verify to the next owner that the model is authentic. 20. Gerry (Millipede) has just dropped the price from €80 to €70 on this. It's a genuine Murphy Models coach, not a respray, so not a bad price considering.
  21. Hi All. I have a few brand new Murphy Models 071's to sell. I had bought them as donors for freight grey re-sprays, but I wasn't overly happy with the decal work on the few that I received, so I've decided to see if anybody wants them before I risk more funky decal work. They cost an arm and a leg, about €315 to €320 each. Hard to be exact as it was some time last year and customs gave me the raping of my life. I hadn't been expecting that as I had the value under-declared but was caught out either way, and had to produce proof of payment. Lesson learned there and I've tried being smarter since. I'll list them on Adverts.ie for €350 each, as it will cost me both postage and import duties to get them up to Ireland. The 071's are heavy enough and bulky enough so I'm guessing €20 to 30 each if posted individually. An alternative would be giving them to somebody to take back up to Ireland with them, saving a bit of wasted money, so if you know of anybody with Tenerife holidays planned, keep that in mind. Anyhow, if anybody is interested, feel free to get in touch. I intend posting them up to Ireland over the next few weeks. Had been thinking of doing it on my day off next week but I'm going to donate blood, and that always leaves me a bit woozy for a day or two. There are three IE livery factory-weathered 085's and a silver and black livery 082. I thought that I also had a ST one but I'm either hallucinating or it's hidden behind something. They've never been run, so I can either test-run them or sell them as pure BNIB's. If they don't sell, I'll probably get them repainted anyhow. To add, I am loath to list them on eBay as I've tried finding out about selling from an Irish location, while using a Spanish bank account, and being fiscal resident in the Canary Islands, so three different sets of regulations, but that just blows everybody's minds.
  22. This is gonna be great! How seaside-ish will it be?
