Nothing worse than a hardcore anorak who takes pictures every chance he / she gets!

I thought you loved speculation, specially on steam locos, and the threads on how much 071's go for.

So, to kickstart the new year, how about some speculation??? Anything to do with Irish model trains, trucks, buses and cars. Likely arrivals over the coming months are IRM's NIR Mk2B/C coaches, Paddy Murphy's Mk2D coaches and his new run of 141's / 181's. Hatton's Genesis coches are probably here by summer. And for me, although not prototypically perfect, the Heljan Mk2's as respray donors! Will we finally see two-tone green Dublin Bus Olympians from IRM? Or at the very least, a mainstream livery to follow up the smashing City Swift buses? Will we see Hino's from IRM? Will Brian Collins hit us with a surprise bus commission? Will anybody commission some Oxford vans? Maybe a triple pack of An Post, Telecom Eireann and ESB Transits? Or two triples, a Telecom Eireann era pack and an Eircom era pack? Will we see IRM develop a 21mm chassis for the next run of Bubbles? Will we see 45' containers from @Arran's C-Rail stable? Will we see Project 47 from IRM? Will Paddy Murphy offer any more on the rumoured 071 re-run? Or his Mk3's and 201's? Will we have an update on IRM's steam project? Will it be 21mm-friendly? Have they come up with some ingenious way of doing so? Wouldn't be surprised if they had, knowing them! Trolling by @BosKonay is fully permitted, as I know he just can't help himself! Will @Edo's bookcases collapse?

This, this right here is the first negative point I've ever come across for not having Whatsapp. Damn you, @MOGUL, for crushing my hopes and dreams right at the start of the year, damn you all to Hell!

Happy New Year to all on the forum! Here's hoping that 2024 brings more good luck and prosperity to you and your loved ones. Goodbye 2023 - here are the last rays of sun from yesterday, sun finally vanished from view at 1824h:

I'd buy a pack with a brown Cronos and blue Unit 45, even with Crapol print, because they're so common here, but wouldn't bother with the IWT's or anything. They might manage the one without the orange band but they'd make a total mess of the ones with the band. *shudders at the thought* If IRM were to release a Project 47 with some of @Arran's C-Rail 45' boxes, that might be the start of C-Rail 45's, and we'd no longer have to settle for crappy Dapol. Probably worth waiting for that instead. I don't understand how it's just their containers that are so crap, yet they can get the wagons looking so well. Crapol - what a load of sh1t...
-
Once they weren't Dapol nor handmade Adverts.ie jobs, I'd take truckloads of them. Get it?

Maybe the announcement will carry over to Tuesday as it's now a bank holiday weekend?

Too hot for trains!

That 2002 release by ERTL Racing Champions of the EJ9 Honda Civic Coupe from the original Fast and Furious movie in 1:18 scale:

I took the pics at one or two AM, on my way home from work. Everything shuts around nine or ten, so aside from the few lads playing football in the plaza in the fourth photo, anybody with any sense was at home, sitting on their balcnies, drinking sangria or prosecco.

Sorry I couldn't have been of more help, @derek. I had a look around online and the most common suggestion is to try an alternate browser. If you're using Firefox, try Chrome, Edge, Opera etc instead. Can't remember Windows 8 myself, it's been a few years since the free upgrades to WIndows 10 now. Haven't a clue about iPods and iPads and iStuff, just Windows and Android, really. Have just started using an iPhone for work, and by default, it is set to use exclusive / less common video and image formats. If @patrick is using an iDevice, that may explain part of the issue. Maybe @BosKonay can shed some light...

Also found this image online by @hurricanemk1c / Kieran Marshall, published December 13th 2014. Apologies but I can't figure out how to download the image in order to upload here, so I can only post the url, so this one won't feature in search result previews on the forum.

No container section on the forum so I guess the vehicle section is the best place for container threads for now. Picked up a few AWM brand IWT 45' containers in 1:87 recently. I was unaware they even existed until @MOGUL pointed them out to me. Overall they're nicely decorated. The print is much higher quality than Dapol print. Unfortunately, the locking bars are moulded, not seperate, and are body coloured, not metallic. Length is very similar to a 1:76 40' box, about 2mm shorter, so they'd probably fool the eye on some IRM flats in motion. Height and width are going to be issues but again, in motion, and placed flush with the viewing side of the flats, they might be passable. Not for the hardcore puritans, but probably good enough for anybody prepared to accept TLC's. They were quite cheap, think around a fiver each on eBay. Definitely worth grabbing for that price, in my humble opinion. There were other sellers with them for €15 to €20 a pop at the same time. Does / did anybody do these in 1:76? When did this livery first appear?

Great stuff!!!

Absolutely stunning photo realism! Is it a plastic body on a metal chassis? Some amount of welding in that chassis if so. Great stuff!
