I’ve heard some truly appalling stuff about this loco. It might be the new “Oxford Adams radial”

The hardest part of getting a mortgage from bank of mum and dad is justifying spending any money at all on trains in the first place. Never mind trying to explain how a train the same size as there phone costs as much of not more!

Alstom are the last company we should be buying from that would be like if CIE kept buying from metropolitan vickers in the 60s and 70s

Forget NFT’s and crypto currency Invest in Irish models

Rocksavage works finished work on paining 479 this morning. it will soon be sent out to the junction to replace a C class on a mixed train they were awful due to the fact the bandon tank decals were not designed to be put on independently. I lost both spare 467 and 469 decals while trying to apply them and something went wrong before the red enamel paint went on the river side really shows how the decals really felt being put on. Horrendous but at least from far away there alright!

Those motors in awkward positions killed the 3d print bandon tank. A new chassis has to be made which I have made no progress on since

I see paddy as really doing only the GM stuff. You could make an argument at that time silverfox covered the other major areas like A, C, Sulzer. Add in the fact multiple liveries had been introduced since lima 201 loco, as well at murphy’s standerd of quality going up massive in 10 years. I suppose it’s understandable that we have had 3 1/2 runs of the 201 from Lima/MM over the past 20 years

It was mentioned in the soft announcement that it was late 2021-spring 2022. If we take into account delays witch are inevitable due to shipping ect. My GUESS would be April-august 2022 i could also be presently suprised

I’d dissagree. Murphy’s 201s are not the strongest model of the bunch but are still very serviceable models. I look foraward to the upcoming release of the newer badger, enterprise and ecpecially IE liveries
-
Ids say it’s a case of when they release they drop…..that’s it. I’d go to the “new murphy’s products” thread for information

Any major info about the IE 201 Class?
Westcorkrailway replied to 228RiverOwenboy's topic in General Chat
Between 2006 and now did the class ever get a repaint? I know at some point maybe around 2015 the logos changed from the old IE logo to the new IE logo. Did they get repainted in that period? And also we’re the chassis on the slightly changed livery given a “slate grey chassis” in that repaint. Because if they didn’t the grubbiness looks really clean on the underbodies. And it’s always confused me a bit. -

At least the grey 121 had a black chassis. CIE surly knew weathering on these light grey locos would be horrendous (the whole reason the black n tan\Black/black with yellow front end liveries came in was to hide the crossely gunk compared to silver and light green. So I don’t understand the “paint primer” grey chassis on the 201 and indeed on the 2600 class -

It does seem a little surreal Dosent it I do love the Intercity livery EXCEPT for the colour of the chassis. Even though weathering made the chassis a more suitable colour very quickly -
Decided to run the loco today and things went to pot fairly fast. The loco would not move when the body was on (though you could hear the motor trying to start). Panic set in as I perhaps somehow, glue got into the motor. Thankfully all that was required was loosening the body screws and letting the loco run in for a few minutes again due to the new wait the brass sheet has giving the loco. Once the issue was fixed Had it run with all my CIE coaches flat out ill get my buffer beams sorted on saterday with humbrol red paint and SSM transfers for both front and rear buffer beam IMG_1289.MOV

Westcorkrailway replied to Warbonnet's topic in News
A46, A39R and A3R I believe are the ones that would cost €200 pre owned…..it’s only been a month and a bit since they were released -

When people complain about prices of the A’s on eBay in a years time. Bring them back to this thread! -
Aye, dez has been very good to me. He might take a second to respond.

€250 start price? 121s and A class have really inflated these yolks
-
At least the Bachman one don’t make the locomotive sound horrendous like that Hornby one
-
I am slightly chuffed with it. The black is exactly correct. Glue marks were removed this morning. It suits my “fictional semi rosslare” coaches very well. Can’t wait to finish the buffer beams in time
