1. I brought my provincial open Bullied wagon with SSM 30t van down to Gerry's Ballybeg last evening for its first run. 230 along with IFM open Bullied belong to Gerry.I think the looks very nice and both wagons run very well.
2. The Park royals and Laminate coaches are expensive rtr, however I would like a kit version of the Park Royal when funds permit.I have bought the IFM Curtin and metal door cements in kit form and enjoyed building them People can make up their own minds if they want to buy them or not.
3. Have to agree, excellent tutorials. I found Richies tutorial on the SSM 42 very helpful.
4. I used grey primer on the body and then found out that the tins of grey paint that I had stored are useless so I put on some rust wash and a bit of weathering powder. Sorry about lighting in photos as I had to use flash on phone due to poor light in shed.
5. Thanks John. They are a nice kit to make. Now to get going with the painting:)
6. A dark day on Irish Railways. Amazing to see those tickets.
7. Just finished building the Provincial Wagons CIE Bullied open wagon. Nice little kit and very enjoyable to build. The running gear underneath is a little tricky, just take your time.A nice kit for anyone who would like to try a resin kit for the first time.I used a bit of scrap brass for the things that stop the door from fouling the running gear. Not sure if they look a bit thin,I can use slightly larger scrap brass if needed.
8. I know the feeling. I walked away twice from Marks stall But 077 called me back-buy me buy me. I am now the proud owner of 077,073-IR 073-IE freight,078,082,112,085,075,071 grey.I can resist everything only temptation.
9. I bought this nice Bullied open wagon at the Dublin show, and could not resist 077 joining the fleet either when she was going for 139euro.While at the Wexford show I picked up two nice transits to add to the fire fleet.
10. I met Fran and Patrick at the show yesterday and have ordered 12 myself. Great to see such a positive response to the ballast wagons.
11. Crossley engines were originally in the A and C class, but proved very unreliable in service, hence they were replaced by GM engines.
12. I bought the shapeways ballast hopper body's a few years ago which worked out at about over 80 euro for 4.By the time you factor the prestwin chassis paint etc.Very good value from this new venture.
13. Very best of luck with this release. I am thinking if a nice rake of Gypsum Hoppers which I persume are the same as the ballast wagons.I will get a few for sure, and the thoughts of a quality rtr bubble sounds great.
14. Have to agree, new look is great. Thanks to all concerned.
