  1. They look fantastic, well done.
  2. They are a nice kit to build alright Tommy, and perhaps need a bit of weight added to stop the derailments as they do seem to be very light.
  3. Currently, I am trying to finish off my batch of dapol Esso tankers with the SSM brass detail. These are a nice starter For anyone wishing to try a kit with brass together for the first time, well worth a try. It's taken me far too long to build these, so the plan is to have them built this week. I will post up more photos at a later stage.
  4. Took me ages just to build one 42 flat and that was glued together.I can imagine it takes a lot longer to solder. Great job.
  5. Stunning work Tony.
  6. I wonder would Mallow-Waterford have survived had the Ballinacourty project had come online sooner.Mallow -Waterford closed in March 1967, While the spur to Ballinacourty to service the Quigley plant came about around 1970. Trains could have run to Mallow via Dungarvan, and perhaps beet trains could have run via Dungarvan as well.
  7. The video is nice, although I found that the bass reflex speaker gave great output on my a class. The A class chip was recorded from a39 at Downpatrick a few years ago, with the best part of the recordings done from the rear cab pushing the empty stock to Inch Abby. A39 is looked after well and she is not pushed hard.
  8. I posted many many times, video of my A class with sound on this site.
  9. I am afraid I bought nothing in the sale. The kitty is a bit bare at the moment, such is life. It's nice to have such expensive hobbys.
  10. Hope this helps, my own MK3 EGV which was a spare Hornby restraunt coach that I had a go with the SSM brass sides.
  11. Thanks Tommy, and you are dead right in that you would never tire looking at these locos.
  12. I have been after IE 146 for a long time, and finally got my hands on one that has never turned a wheel. So just finished the various bits that have to be put on.I hope to run her with 184 most of the time.
  13. Great job.Welcome to the site.
  14. Just finished two MIR "20" containers. Stuck on two Bells, and paint was changed to red oxide.
  15. Ah ballasting, the most enjoyable job on a new layout. It will be fab when finished.Your new layout would give the plough vans a good test.
  16. Looking good Noel. I still miss the old layout though.
  17. I can resist everything only temptation-
  18. Thanks for bringing this up Noel.
  19. Great shots Tommy. Here are a few from Enniscorthy.
  20. Very Nice.I just about remember black and tan 141s in the mid 70s.
  21. A lot of strange "goings on "with the previous incarnation Of IRM. Very thankful to Boskonay for setting up this site, and the Mods as well.
  22. John, the mails were carried in the normal scheduled trains. The mk2d EGV were the normal from about 1988 to 2004.I remember the newspaper trains in the 70s, which normally arrived into Enniscorthy Station at about 4.45 and as you said a single bogie van.I got my first spin in a 141 on one of these trains if only through the now long disused goods Shed. The Late Rory Doyle from Enniscorthy was always delight to bring chaps like myself on cab rides. That was a different time when a cab ride was no bother.I think it must have been around 76-77 as the 141 was in black and tan livery.
