  1. Thanks Tommy, and you are dead right in that you would never tire looking at these locos.
  2. I have been after IE 146 for a long time, and finally got my hands on one that has never turned a wheel. So just finished the various bits that have to be put on.I hope to run her with 184 most of the time.
  3. Great job.Welcome to the site.
  4. Just finished two MIR "20" containers. Stuck on two Bells, and paint was changed to red oxide.
  5. Ah ballasting, the most enjoyable job on a new layout. It will be fab when finished.Your new layout would give the plough vans a good test.
  6. Looking good Noel. I still miss the old layout though.
  7. I can resist everything only temptation-
  8. Thanks for bringing this up Noel.
  9. Great shots Tommy. Here are a few from Enniscorthy.
  10. Very Nice.I just about remember black and tan 141s in the mid 70s.
  11. A lot of strange "goings on "with the previous incarnation Of IRM. Very thankful to Boskonay for setting up this site, and the Mods as well.
  12. John, the mails were carried in the normal scheduled trains. The mk2d EGV were the normal from about 1988 to 2004.I remember the newspaper trains in the 70s, which normally arrived into Enniscorthy Station at about 4.45 and as you said a single bogie van.I got my first spin in a 141 on one of these trains if only through the now long disused goods Shed. The Late Rory Doyle from Enniscorthy was always delight to bring chaps like myself on cab rides. That was a different time when a cab ride was no bother.I think it must have been around 76-77 as the 141 was in black and tan livery.
  13. I started work for an post in 1992 and for a while got to bring the Mail from New Ross and Enniscorthy Post Offices over to the Station for the 6.45 train to Dublin. It was mostly a single 141 or even a single 121 with a odd 001 in charge.I had to throw the mail bags into the EGV, and collect one bag from Wexford.I remember always trying to get up to the loco for a look before she got underway. The mails ceased to be carried by rail in January 1994.
  14. It was part of the weed killer train.I think it was the accommodation van?.

  20. Best of luck Noel with the new Tara Junction. And as I saw Tara Junction in the flesh, I will be sad to see it's demise. However your plans for Tara 2 sound great. So many options with Claremorris Station, Burma road etc.
  21. How much is the subscription, looks great. I have a few NILs from the early 00s.
  22. Nice job on the van. The 121 looks fab as well.
  23. That would be great Des, but what did you have in mind as regards motors.I don't know much about the motor bogies such as Black Beetle and Tenshodo bug.Could these work for the Co Co A class?.
  24. Looks like a cracking chassis.
