Good advice guys,as painting anything is the vain of
my life.I would like to get a proper set up some time
in the future when time and money is better,until then
hand painting may do me.
Scratch building will give you great satisfaction and your
bubbles are a great way of expanding your skills.Fair play
for having a go,the results are very good.
That is a insperation of of layout.looks cosy for the winter
but what about heat?have you installed anything to cope
with the intense heat that can arise in Summer.I had to
move my entire stock to the landing during the recent
heat wave as I feared damage to locos etc.
I had a look at a spare sd9 chassis that I had for
the SSM sulzer.It looked like a lot of work to modify
so I stuck to the Hornby deltic chassis.Its nice to see
how one was used-great work.
I got this nice Oxford diecast Dennis Fire engine a few weeks back
and i love the detail and a fine array of ladders.At some stage I
hope to have a nice fire station in place on the layout.
There was feature on that line on a IRRS journal a while back,
I think it might have mostly been about the branch to
Mountmellick or Castlecomer,not sure but will check it out
when I get a chance
